I hope that this is OK to post in General section...

As Vapers Organize, Legislature Scrambles to Impose New E-Cig Tax

..House Floor Leader J.T. Wilcox, R-Yelm. Surveying the crowd, he said one of the big lessons he has learned is that the Legislature looks for easy targets. “There is this constant search for who we can tax more, and in general what they do is find an unpopular group or people who aren’t organized, and especially people who don’t have a paid mouthpiece to come down here and fight for them. That’s what they thought was going to happen – and it didn’t.”
I added bold text there....

So... we have verbal proof that the only reason that vaping is being targeted is that vapers are not organized.
You don't like Twitter? You don't like FaceBook? Reddit?

How do you like vaping?

In WA state, a $12 bottle of juice could go up to $40.
You are not in Washington state?
You think that if they get away with it, YOUR state won't be tempted to follow?

Hundreds showed up this past weekend to protest. It should have been THOUSANDS!

We either Organize now as a group, or we will FAIL

I agree with your sentiments. This is also the reason a product is demonized. It suppresses public option since they politicians have the fall back excuse, "We are doing it for the public good". Obviously we have other sin taxes. It is now expanding to soda pop and fast food. Would not even be surprised if items are taxes at the market level. A trip to the grocery store would be a gift to the tax man. Tofu will be exempt of course.

Very good points Ken!

I never had Twitter or Facebook accounts, I have no need for them in my personal life. I do now. I'm still learning how to use them, but I can and do tweet for the cause. Somehow along the way I accumulated 137 followers and I'm following almost as many. It's free, doesn't take that much time and while my doing this will change nothing, if enough of us do it it can make a difference. I'm a CASAA member too.

If we wait to start using the tools and to organize until it's too late we have no one to blame but ourselves. It's getting serious now. The EU is in the thick of it and it doesn't look good over there, steep taxes are being proposed and passed in the US and the FDA has not yet spoken.

Have you ever thought it would really suck if vaping was heavily restricted or oppressively taxed? The time to start doing something is now.

Anyone want to help me respond to this one?

Bill Greenlee
@BillGreenlee15
@kenanderson20 How can you call it a miracle when you don't even know what's in it?

I tweeted back that I know EXACTLY what is in them and gave him the link I keep in my sig to the vaping studies

But, since they bow to organized efforts... Re-tweeting my reply will make him drop that tired line!

Edit: I'm so ticked off by that, I have had to re-edit this post 4 times in the past minute!
