Why wont this forum ever remember me?!

Not sure where to post this, I don't see a "Help about this site" section.

I visit many forums and this is the only one that I have to log into over and over. And I dont mean just the first time I log in for the day, it's like every hour or something. Whenever I come back to this forum I have to log in again....GRRR!

No other forums behave this way, I have cookies on, remember me, etc.

Am using Firefox 3.6.17 if that matters.

I dont see anything there that applies, except for this:

There is a 'session time' on server software, for security, and it's not long. No activity within a certain time (like posting) and you are logged out. Check the box and you stay logged in. If, then, you are still logged out repeatedly, it points to a local PC issue. Please try the Java update or a new browser, and see if you can fix it

I always do remember me and am always up to date with Java because my job requires it.

Arg....I visit probably 10+ forums a day and this is the only one that constantly logs me out so I am really confused.

I use FF 3.6.17 as well and am not experiencing the problem. Try clearing your cache and cookies and see it it helps.

This exact same thing kept happening to me. I did do the remember me thing and it seems to be working. Sorry this post isn't much help, but I do feel your aggravation.

Also check to see if you have any cookie controller on there such as Cookie Culler, Better Privacy, etc.

If you do, it's flushing your cookies and you need to add ECF to the flush-cookie exceptions.

Might even be a browser setting such as "Flush cookies on leaving site" [enter ECF as exception].

Nope, nothing like that.

And remember, out of all the forums I visit (for that matter, ANY site that I log in to) this is the only one that I have this issue with.

In fact every time I have posted in this thread I have had to login again.

Check your Date + Time on your computer, if it's not correct you'll never be remembered

Are you checking the "Remember me" check box when you login? I know it sounds silly but sometimes it is the simple things that trip us up.

did you check your privacy setting on FF,
tool / options /privacy /use custom settings for histories / exceptions

I wasn't being remembered either, and didn't see a remember me box to check.... one day I mistyped my password and the next window for logging in gave me the remember me box.... then when I logged in from another computer I just mistyped my password on purpose and got the same second window... I am sure that isn't the 'proper' way to do it but works for me...

have you tried another computer (not at home) and see if it does the same ) the block could be on your router

Welllll.....duh.... was going to slink away but....

I tried it..... and it works.... unless I logout.... when I logout I get a window asking if I am sure then a window that says all cookies cleared and to log in I need to type in my password again... If I just use the red X to close the window and come back it remembers me....

Don't click logout... that's what it's supposed to do (forget who you are)... unless you want to logout?

I blame um time for not having cleaned it up :x
