Why wouldn't I run a kick on a mechanical mod?

Good info in this thread... Got my first mech mod today. Along with quality imr batteries, a kick and a fuse... I already had a few batteries 10 amp or less... After my day at work, still gotta put dinner together, get my boy from baseball practice and get a load or two of laundry done I'm sure I won't be building/dripping. Maybe I'll at least throw my 500 battery in with the kick and vape on my carto tank just so I get to use my new toy before bed!!! I love the mod, soooooo pretty and much smaller than I expected... Thanks to the people here and all the info available, I'm well on my way... Yay!!!

Why wouldn't some one want to run a kick?

Some set ups can be finicky with a kick and maintain a proper connection. (i.e. battery length and kick may still be too long with a mech even with a kick extension ring. Not all batteries are the same length)

You favorite mechs may not even kickable.

I find kicks to not be very durable, burned through 3 of them, one Evolv, 2 Fasttech cheapies.

The length of a mod with an 18650, kick, and atomizer like a Kayfun can be ridiculously long.

I personally do not use kicks anymore for these reasons, the payoff is just not worth it for me.

Kicks are mainly for adjustable consistency. Some use them for safety, and others prefer the consistency. All they really do is regulate battery output on mech mods that are built to deliver unregulated battery power. They do help some people save batteries by not working below a certain voltage though, because without them some people run their batteries past nominal and kill them permanently. But you become limited to the kick's resistance/output capabilities.

The Kick does put a Brain in a Device that does not have one... It Provides Consitancee and a Level of Protection. I like a Conistant Vape where I Press the Button x and get a vape that I know is the Same Everytime, and a straight Mech does not give that...The Press is Short when Fresh and Longer as time goes By.

The Great thing about Vaping is you make it your Own, If you like how something is fantastic if you want to change there are ways to get it "just Right For You"
The Only reason I can think someone would discourage a Kick is that it is not a True Mechanical anymore, but if you like the Consistancey and the Protection it provides I say Go for it!!
