That really is very interesting. I've always found the smell of *men's* sweat very metallic, like "burnt metal," not so much with women's or children's.
I thought this was obvious? If metal smelled like that on its own, no one would use metalware without clear coatings. Not use things like cars or trains.
Bare copper does have an odor, or perhaps it is the oxidation of the copper that is smelling.
Bare aluminum does as well. But most cannot seem to smell it.
