Wicking a Quad Coil?

On my IGO-W, I've built a side by side quad coil of 28gauge, 8/9 wrap, 1/16th ID metering about .31 ohm.

My problem is wick placement. As of now, I have two tiny strands of cotton lightly twisted with the pointed end barely reaching the edges of the well and the fatter part going around the outside and back through the pos/neg post gaps.

Is this ideal for a side by side quad microcoil setup?

I've done a ton of searching and there's really not too much information on quad coils in general

There she is. Sorry if it's dark.

Yes the cotton goes through both, two on each side.

Side note: all three of my IGO-Ws' posts are slightly cocked and it drives me nuts when I'm making multi-coil setups. Almost every time I make a quad coil, at least on coil glows slower because of the way the posts are. They make one leg longer than the rest :(

I'm not a fan of quad coils, but when I gave em a shot vertical coils were what I preferred. Building them was a little bit of a pita, but running the wicks was really easy. Just run the cotton through it until it touches the deck, then snip off the top leaving just a tuft on the top. You can also bring the coils close enough together that they almost touch, that way they both get equal airflow from a single airhole.

Just so anyone searching for info on quad coils, specifically on the IGO-W, I figured out something.

When doing side by side quads, I used 28 for mine, I wrap all of the coils going the same direction meaning I start wrapping the coil on the same side of the drill bit for all 4. This is contrary to popular suggestions that say to have the positive legs all on top and the negs all on bottom.

This is rather irrelevant to my OP but it helped me in having my wick burn much more even.
