I was using cotton by twisting a piece of cotton ball into a small enough thread to feed down the coil into the tank. Vertical coil over the hole in the deck. I'm now using rayon but you can't twist it and that is a bit trickier.

The RSST has a 3mm + wick hole. I was using 5/64 1.9mm drill.

The cotton should swell when it gets wet. You will need to tilt the liquid level to meet the deck at the wick to keep the wick saturated.

I have found, at least with my Kraken(clone), that cotton yarn works the best. Peaches&Cream organic cotton yarn from the wally-world. Cool thing is, it is just about the perfect diameter to slide right through a good-size coil. Does not, however, work well with higher VG liquids. I personally have found anything higher than 50/50 vg/pg does not wick as well as I like.

I have an RSST and I use 3mm silica from the tank to the build deck, I leave about 1/2" sticking up above the deck and then lay Rayon on the silica, from there I place a horizontal nano coil ( 1.2 - 2.2 ohms) onto the rayon. Rayon stays wet ( dripper wet) and the vape quality is pretty decent ( your not going to get clouds, its more a flavor build) but the kewl thing about it is that it doesnt leak when layed down.... the wet rayon seals the hole.

My wicks go about 5mm under the deck and I do the genny tilt. I use Kanthal to coax the wick into the deck holes. It is a process and requires patience. Most flavorful vape known to man. I have to dig out my 400 mesh pics..mesh with a little cotton on them inside the coils works wonders as well. Took me many builds to get it all dialed in. Good Luck. Keep at it!
