Sorry if this topic has been covered but tapatalks acting stupid and i can barely find subforums to post in lol.

Just wanting to hear about/see other peoples wickless designs.

I twisted up some 28awg kanthal on the drill then took another long 28awg kanthal peice and coiled that over the twisted section.

Made my coil over a 1.5mm drillbit. Threw it in my reomizer 2.0 and sat it right on the ceramic deck of the atty. A squeeze of the juice bottle on my reo and the coil itself wicks the juice for a good 3-4 hits.

Amazing pure game changing flavor! And no wick to burn that gives off dry burnt hits.

Anyone else playing with wickless setups and perfecting them?

Seems to me basically you are using kanthal itself as the wick; somewhat analogous to using oxidized steel mesh.

Are you still using it?

I found a random picture on an El Paso Vapor facebook page a few days ago that got me thinking about it. Just started looking at videos tonight. I'm gonna try it tomorrow, but I am going to use 32 gauge. More surface area, should heat up and cool down quicker.

This thing would be great for trying out a bunch of different flavors with a regular dripper, and soaking it would be effortless with a Reo. There are a lot of videos about them in the past 3 weeks.

I seen that vid too... works good in a ceramic based reomizer2.0

I took it out and ran a standard micro since the only mods i have right now are 2 reos and had to have one for the ol lady to vape.

My brass ft caravela came today, waiting on a few other mech mods and rba's to show up then im going to set another wickless up.... this time im going to be using some magic mundy ribbon wire.

Google "mundy's magic ribbon" if you havnt heard of it. Theres ALOT of people swearing by it that its the best flavor of a vape yet.

Its ribbon wire you twist on a drill untill it folds over on itself, then you use 3 peices of this and twist it in the opposite direction and they interlock creating a coil that wicks and holds juice in all the crevaces.

Waiting for the ribbon to show up and going to give the mundy magic a whirl

Yeah, that Mundy's looks like something else. I haven't tried it, but I hear good things.

I'm thinking about ordering some 40 gauge Kanthal and making the coil/wick almost like the stainless steel rope wick. Maybe 8 strands twisted. Just trying to get the surface area up but not get the whole thing too thick where it takes 10 wraps and heats up slow.

I watched a video where the guy was talking about how good it would be to take into a vape shop where they let you drip samples. I've never been in a vape shop, but it does sound like a great idea. I imagine something like this is probably the future.
