Wife ordered me a SLB KGO kit for Father Day

I have tried the vaping thing a fwe years back and it just didn't work for me at the time. The e cig I chose was a penstyle and it leaks and the carts would flood my atty when on batteries, the batteries were not hot enough to produce vapor well. When it is plugged in to my laptop with a passthrough it vapes great, but that doesn't do any good when you are not near your laptop.

Anyway, read great reviews about the SLB KGO and many have quit smoking with it so I am going to give it a go. I have my eye on the ProVari as soon as I can afford one to add to my collection but figured this is a good start.

Wish me luck on quitting the anologs, if it doesn't do it on batteries I will be getting the provari

Good luck! As you see by my sig, I've been vaping awhile.

A total stranger (on the sidewalk outside a club) saw me start to light up an analog and introduced me to ecigs. V4L, specifically. Said he'd tried three other brands that were cheaper, but terrible. I went home, ordered a kit that night, and never looked back.

Then, maybe four months ago, I ordered some Titans and a couple of tanks from V4L. Loved 'em. But the tank carts wore out quickly. Turned out (from ECF) the Titans weren't really powerful enough (volts) to properly use with the tanks / cartos.

So I ordered two kGo 1100 maHs, plus an adapter and charger and some big eGo carts. WOW! What a difference! The kGos lasted me a day or slightly more per charge, and did a great job with the tanks. Tried Stardusts on the kGos. GREAT! The Stardust vender threw in 3 samples of liquids and to my amazement, I LOVED 'em! (I had given up trying "tobacco" flavors two years ago. Couldn't find anything I liked. Stuck with Tasty Vapor's wonderful Cafe Machiatto as my only vape.) Now, suddenly, I had three great new eliquids that I immediately reordered.

Kept reading about the Darwin and Provari, and other mods, on ECF. Watching YouTubes on 'em. I learned all their advantages. Settled on the Provari V2. It arrived three weeks ago -- and vaping is finally everything I hoped for and wanted it to be when I first started: consistent, reliable, flavorful, convenient -- and customizable!

No matter what device (carto, tank, Stardust, etc.) or flavor I put on the Provari, I can immediately check its oHm resistance, multiply that by 2.5 volts (somebody with tech knowledge on ECF suggested that simple trick) to know its "high" safe voltage, instantly adjust the Provari . . . and happily vape away with NO loss of vapor or flavor. EVER.

The kGos got me to the Provari in about six weeks. I still use the kGos when I leave the house (but really only for social occasions where I want to look / vape inconspicuously and not attract the attention the Provari attracts). I like the kGos and Provari in the black satin finish.

Is the Provari worth it? Are you kidding? I was a lifelong two packs a day (2PDA) smoker and loved smoking. People congratulate me on having stopped smoking. I tell 'em, honestly, I just feel like I've switched brands.

But the truth is that I MUCH prefer vaping to smoking. Same satisfaction, but none of the 4000 chemicals and by-products from combustion. None of the smell in my house, on clothes, on me. None of the burns on clothing, carpets, car seats. None of the ashes everywhere.

And none of the expense. Did I mention I've saved over $10K in under three years, vaping? (All costs considered, I spend around $1.50 a day vaping, for the same satisfaction--and none of the negatives--I once got from 2 PDA. Do the math.)

I've found five flavors I truly love (I vape at 24-26 mg, and sometimes 36mg). Using the Provari has immediately let me know what systems and resistances I prefer. No more wondering if this juice might be better in that device on a different battery, etc. So my hardware is effectively (and efficiently) narrowed down to (in order) tanks with 2.0 or 3.0 single-coil carts, or Stardusts at the same resistance, or Kanger or larger eGo cartomizers. All with simple black cheap drip tips (the eGo comes with its own tip).

BTW, when I started vaping nearly three years ago, I IMMEDIATELY felt better. No more coughs. No more "death rattles" at night when I lie down to sleep. No more shortness of breath. I smoked for over 45 years. Turns out I have some COPD, which I only discovered last fall, getting a checkup. But I feel great.

Vaping gives me ALL the pleasures of smoking (the digital manipulation, the oral stimulation, the appearance of clouds of "smoke", the nicotine satisfaction) and much more. Vaping is so customizable that for some it becomes a hobby. I'm not there, but I've tried every juice I wanted to try (still read about new ones--new to me--on ECF), on every device I wanted to try.

Have to say, the Provari makes all the difference. And it works. It just works. Like iPhones and iPods and iPads and Apple products. It's beautifully designed, clean and simple, and works out of the box. Delivers consistent voltage from first vape to last. Blinks when it's time to charge the battery. Catches bad cartos or improper voltages (E1 error or OP error). Allows me to vary the voltage for best taste and hit, depending on what I'm vaping. And looks good doing it.

As you can tell from my avatar, I am a man for whom good looks and sophisticated tastes are of stellar importance.

Enjoy your kGos. Move on to Provari if you feel like it. And enjoy! This time, I have a feeling, you will never look back.

Happy Fathers Day!

P.S.

Did I mention I've saved over $10,000 . . . ?

Thanks for all the info robert. As you can tell by my sig, I started here back in 2009 and just didn't get the satisfaction factor from vaping that anologs gives me. I am excited about my new kit and flavors and really hope I can get my provari coming in the next 4 weeks or so.
I am ready to give up the stinkies. I have a wife and 2 little ones I love very much and really would like to see my kids graduate high school at least. Yes, I had kids late in life. I have a 6 yr old and 3 yr old and I am 42, been smoking since I was 16 ,, sure as hell not braggin about that. I just love smoking. Like most of you,, so good after food, after a beer, after #$#$,,,, LOL you guys get it,,,, I really enjoy smoking and want to really enjoy vaping, it was just a pain in the ... the first time I tried, leaky , no vaping thing without being plugged in no smoke,, anyway,, hoping this kit is all the reviews say it is.
Thanks and have a great Friday evening,,,
Dan

I was smoking 3 years before you were born! I started with a cig look a like and reduced my smoking from 30 a day down to 4 a day overnight, it was when I bought a KGO that I was able to throw away the cigs around April 27th 2012. Now life is great, no more coughing all the time, gagging, gasping for air after exerting myself.
KGOs are great, wish I had started with one
I mostly use a 2.1-2.4 ohm Clearomizer on my KGO.

I hope you make it this time. I am having trouble not wanting to smoke. I am mad at myself because I had 6 cigarettes today. I had some unexpected bills that are hard to pay come up and it makes me stressed. I am going to try to do better tomorrow. That is what this forum of very nice knowledgeable people and friendly also:) are here for to encourage each other. You CAN make it this time. I am rooting for you.

Dan, I predict you will like the KGO. I bought one a month ago and I really like it. I had 4 cigs the next day, 2 the day after that and 1 the following morning and haven't had one since. Tomorrow (Saturday) will be 4 weeks, and I don't miss cigarettes. I still get the urge sometimes, but I just vape through it.

I think it's all about getting the right equipment and the right juice that satisfies your nicotine cravings and the other aspects of cigarette addiction. Be sure and get juice that is high enough nicotine content (24mg is a good starting point to try) so you will get a decent throat hit. I've got some 12mg juice and I wouldn't be able to stay away from cigarettes if 12mg was all I could vape. There's just not enough throat hit for me until I get to about 18mg.

I don't know which vendor you're getting the KGO from, but some of the kits come with cartomizers in them. Those cartos are typically junk (unless the vendor specifically tells you they are Boge or Smok-Tech cartos), and should be saved for emergency use only. I would recommend either Smok-Tech 1.7ohm LR or Boge 2.0ohm LR cartomizers. I bought some clearomizers and I prefer them to cartos. You should also pick up a low resistance atomizer or two for dripping juices to test the flavors.

Two things this thread reminded me.

1) I haven't thought about analogs since . . . can't remember when, really. I think about ecigs every day. Getting rid of flavors I've ordered, didn't like, that are suddenly vapable on the Provari, so I'll finish them instead of throwing them out. Trying a little Boba's mixed with Turkish. Where I'm going and whether to carry my Provari or a kGo. What flavor to carry with me. That sort of stuff.

2) In my excitement at discovering four new flavors I really love, since I got the kGos and now the Provari, I'd neglected my old standby: the juice I've vaped exclusively for two years; Tasty Vapor's Cafe Macchiato. So I just now mixed a 36mg batch with their Doubler, loaded a 3.0 oHm tank, put it on the Provari at 4.5 v and -- WHOA! It's NEVER tasted this good before! Amazing!

Good luck to you and don't forget to order some juices!!

Hey , thanks for all the support guys, I have to say, I got my KGo yesterday and charged it up last night. Well, today was my first full day and I only had 4 anologs today. That is a very good sign. This is absolutley the best e-cig I have ever owned.
I hope I can do better tomorrow.
I ordered 3 more tobacco juices from want2vape last night and can't wait for it to get here. I got acid blonde, cold infusion and Vapenstein Blend Managua.
I really have faith that I have it whipped this time with vaping. I even had a beer this evening and the almond joy I am vaping was not bad with a cold one.
Thanks again for all of the well wishes and I will keep you guys updated as I get new juice while attempting to find my all day vape.
I do plan on getting a provari soon as I save enough money from quitting anologs.
Thanks again,
Dan
