mother in out-law??? where!! where!!!? ....ok I'm out of here, pub time:)

Poor Wild:( ..my only common sense advice would be to tell the mother in law that she wont's to take her for a leisurely trip some where in the car for abit of fresh air, then drive her upto the nevada desert and then! grab a shov....... actually!!!, never mind ..that's probably really!! bad advice now that i think about it:rolleyes: Lol

I actually! get on really well with my Mrs mother, I got lucky i suppose:D

Just distract her with some soap operas on cable and set a box of bon-bons strategically on the coffee table infront of her , Now that!! should let wild get in some net time with us for awhile;)~Rick

Jo.....I am here and it seems I have arrived in the "nic" of time!!! There is only one possible solution to Wildskys dreaded dilema. She must invite her "own" mother to stay as well...it is basic science that mother-in-laws do not like one another...therefore one will have to leave..and with wildsky being the female in the relationship she is assured a victory!! the wifes mother will always win out in the end!!....if that fails to work I would(as another member said)Put a chicken or two in her bed while she is sleeping!!!.....problem solved!!!!:DThe Wiz!
Sadly I don't have a Mother anymore. :(

I don't want anyone elses either.

Is her mil that bad?
For a day or so - Not really. But for anything over a week - HELL YES.

THere is NOTHING to do around here, well not for someone who doesn't LIVE here or can't move around much - she has NO interest in doing chores outside, cause she can't walk properly.

My biggest issue is:
School is out - so I have two little kids in the house, I work from home - last week was my busy time, and I was working almost all day. So I put TV/Cartoons on for the kids, they play and mess around, but the TV also helps ALOT.
So then Mother is bored, and changes to friggin BBC or something, and then the kids start bothering me when I'm trying to concentrate on Month end closings at work. That doesn't WORK for me.

MIL also SITS at our main computer ALL DAY.. ALL night till she goes to bed. I really HATE to use my work computer for personal stuff, I just don't like to do that... I didn't for a while, but then broke down, I'm on my work computer now. I was checking emails and stuff only at night and thats a pain in my ... as well. She sits at the computer because she can't get OFF any other chair except the dinning room chairs.

She sits at the computer, sewing or something, and she wants to have the TV on her LAME LAME LAME ol game shows or stupid dumb ... shows.... it REALLY CHAPS MY CHEEKS.

(that is just the tip of this ice-berg, I won't even mention all the other CR@P that goes on that REALLY drives me UP the friggin wall)

Wildsky.......Sorry to hear that!!!!.....I would go with the "Chicken in Bed" plan then!!...We are here for you!!!:)The Wiz!
It was a long long time ago Wiz.... I learned to live without a mom, and it works for me, I hate having someone poking around my STUFF. I left home when I was 16 because I didn't fancy living with my father either.

Having another woman in the house just doesn't work for me, someone changing up where I put things away in the kitchen and things like that... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm trying my best to put up with all this - living in a rural area there is nowhere to bugger off to and get away from this crap either (thats why she's so damn bored as well)

When she leaves, my foot is going down VERY hard, there will be NO More of these kind of visits. She comes to visit 3 or 4 times a damn year, and I can't take it anymore.

ONCE a year is PLENTY enough visiting, this is her second trip already this year, and she's planning on August and November as well.... THOSE visits will NOT HAPPEN!

Oh, honey....I can feel your pain! and I can completely understand... a visit is one thing, an imposition is another.... she needs to be made to understand that such long visits can't happen....and for some of the reasons you've already brought up. Push the work angle, if nothing else.... nobody likes to mess with another's earning potential!

Perhaps MUCH shorter visits (a day or an overnighter, ONLY) could be arranged with her, instead of the overly long ones quarterly.

Nonetheless, WE still love you Wild!

Wild..... normally I'm on your side with most things. And in this case, I would love to be also, however, you don't realize just how good you have it. I would absolutely LOVE to have my MIL visit 3 or 4 times a year. I could even put up with 5 or 6 times a year. But the way I see it, you've got nothing to ..... about 'cause MY FRIGGING MIL LIVES IN MY FRIGGING HOUSE!!!!!!!:mad::-x:evil::mad::-x

:D I'm so there! I'll only bring a few chickens, cause I don't think you need all 17 of them scratching up your yard.. I'll bring the girls that lay the green eggs! I have 5 of them, real pretty pale green eggs.!
Those girls are, Sandra, Sun, Sky, Moon and Star. :D
