Will 30 watts be enough?

After deciding against a dna 30 clone, I'm almost dead set on an iPV mini which I can get for $54.99. My main use for it right now would be to power my two nautilus tanks and Kayfun.

But I'm also interested in eventually buying an Atlantis and possibly a couple RDA's. While I know it will run on this 30 watt mod, how good is it? For I've heard the Atlantis doesn't start to really shine until 35 to 40 watts. Is that shine really worth almost double the price for the 50 watt iPV V2?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't want to end up with another MVP 2.0 where I use it a couple months and outgrow it. But by going with a more expensive mod, its definitely going to be a much longer wait since playing Santa to a 13 year old and a 3 year old is quite expensive.

I run my Nautilus up to 18 watts. Any higher and I get dry hits.
I build my KFL+ v2 at 1.2 to 1.8 ohms. Any lower (ohms) and I get dry hits.
If you have an MVP or iStick you could use either of those with these two tanks.

If you really want to get an Atlantis (and a couple of drippers) I would hold off and get a 50watt or high devise.

I agree that you can get the max use out of a 30w mod... anything over is cloud chasing; dual coil atomizers.
THey are fun, but you can do that with a mech easy... and imo you get more flavor out of atomizers with less than all that wattage.
I end up using most of my high watt boxes around 15 to 25 watts; mostly RTA's and single coil RDA's.

I've thought about holding off however my experience with the BVC coils on my MVP 2.0 is less then pleasant and I'm doing most of my vaping through my iClear 30 and old eVod tank.

Who knows. Maybe I'll just go with the iPV mini and hope for a good enough sale on another mod by the time I want to move to sub-ohms. Because the other mods that are catching my eye are the iPV V2, iPV V3 and the XS Mini.
They are just more money then I can afford to spend right now and I'm not sure if I want to exceed 30 watts anyway.

That's good to know too. I think I'm just going to go with that iPV Mini.

There's also the upcoming Cloupor Mini and Sigelei Mini. If I had to choose now I'd go with the Sig as I believe it has a floating 510 whereas the Cloupor is adjustable. Looks like the Sig Mini uses the Yihi SX130 chip, same as the IPV Mini.

The IPV Mini, while a nice device, isn't really "mini". It's heavy and built very well. If size and weight is a factor, may want to hold out for one of the these or the much anticipated Innokin MVP 3 which should be announced in the next couple weeks.

I believe the big push towards 30W devices is size and compatibility with the Atlantis. I'm currently using the Atlantis on the IPV 2S which is a relatively small (not mini) box mod that goes up to 7W.

Decisions, decisions . . .

Oberon he's right..Ed and I are reviewing and debating the same thing..I want to do the soon to come out Kanger SubTank..

the IPV mini is one I've considered....it's not going to sub ohm though. The reviews show it running great with an Atlantis.

I've passed it over for now..well maybe..we'll see, I want one for when I go box mod that'll run ANYTHING, is rechargable, and compact.

Anything under 1 ohm is considered sub ohm. The Atlantis is a sub ohm tank and the IPV Mini sub ohms down to .5

I guess I have more to review then. Size and weight isn't much of an issue to me and I prefer a product that's more durable then it is light. All I really care about is dependability, durability and the ability to handle Sub-Ohms at least to the specs of the Atlantis.

A couple things that catch my eye about the iPV mini is how comfortable it looks to hold when compared to a traditional box mod and the custom wattage presets. But if I had the coin to spend right now, I would probably be getting the 100 watt SX mini. Very similar grip design but with a better position of the fire button. It also seems to be built a bit more premium.

Infinity, I've not seen or heard anything about .7 or 1.0 ohm coils for the Atlantis. That'd be great if they will offer those resistances.

One of the big reasons I chose the IPV 2s and IPV Mini is because of the low end of the wattage range. I can use my Aerotanks and Atlantis on the same device. Some of the higher wattage mods start at 10W which is too high for me.

For those of you with Kanger Aerotanks that accept the upgraded, enclosed wick dual coil heads, you'll be able to use the new Kanger BPDC coils in these tanks (mini tanks excluded). I believe the resistances range from .5 to 1 ohm. In essence you turn your Aerotank V2 into an Atlantis on a 30W mod.

Atlantis:
I.E... 3.7 power source with a .5 ohms coil will create over 25watts (more or less considering v drop)... and that's 7amps right there.

The Atlantis is just one atomiser. And it can compare with dual coil RDA's.
If that is your preference, I'd look for higher wattage devices.
As it is .5 at present, you need something that will handle the current needs (a good mech clone will do).

But if you use a lot of higher ohms atomizers, you don't need more than 30w.

I like to use 1.x ohms coils in tank atomizers at about 15watts and more than 4 volts so I look for a VV/VW device that gives me higher voltage on the top end, and DNA devices seem to do that better than any.
