I've got a couple of EGO's coming in tomorrow. I've read on the site I ordered it from that it uses the same 510 atomizers, so I would assume it will also use the cartomizers. Is that assumption correct?

Any 510 cartomizer will fit the eGo's baterry connection. However, the 510 cartomizers I've tried are slightly larger in diameter to where the clearance between the cone and the cartomizer is not great enough to allow air to flow to the cartomizers air intakes. So, you either have to not use the cone when using cartomizer, or do what many of us have done - get an extra cone and ream it out to allow the airflow.
What I did was measured the gap between a regular atomizer and the cone and used that same measurement to ream out a cone with a tapered reamer. Works just fine.

Keep them very wet and refill on first sign of loss of flavor. Don't let it go to a burnt taste.
With cartomizers I also use the long delrin drip tips for the mouth piece and refill
through it. They also sell some at provapes:
