Will a higher ohm coil last longer than a lower ohm coil?

Hard for me to fathom how some people pop them or burn them out so quick. I tend to rebuild them just because I can't get it through my head that they last as long as they do with only a change of cotton and a dry burn now and then. Like crxess says, so many variables.

Just to add to the data, have not noticed much of a practical difference in longevity of standard ohm ranges. Like I say, they all seem to last forever until the OCD kicks in and I start rebuilding for the sake of rubuilding. :2c:

I noticed my zmax running strangely warm and when I checked it was running at 14 watts!!! I usually run at 4 to 6 watts! So somehow, from pressing the button alot while vaping, I managed to accidentally bump wattage up to 14 watts; Yeah, I can see how somebody could unintentionally pop a coil.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I have a Kanger T2 Clearomizer. I can buy coils the are 1.7-1.9ohm, 2.2-2.4ohm or 2.4-2.6ohm

Since I use a Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery, the output power is adjustable between 3.2 - 4.8v, so it can power any of these 3 different ohm coils.

Just wondering which coil might be best to use, or last the longest putting out the same amount of vapor.

Aim for the middle 2.2 to 2.4 ohm.

Lower ohm tend to run hotter; the hotter you run, the more damage you do. heat tends to reduce lifetime of products in general.
Higher ohm means you need more voltage to get the thing to work; basically more safe region to operate in; lower current.

If you were my neighbor, I would be happy to bring you all my coils when the OCD strikes.:)

.... heat tends to reduce lifetime of products in general....

There ya go, in a nutshell. Man I had this lap top and I installed a Linux OS that I did not know had some problems with running hot, and my fan would run like a 747 almost constantly -- didn't even know it had that high a setting on it. Simply experimenting to get it to work right eventually burned something out. Nothing against Linux by the way, my fault the way I just got caught up in it, trying to get the damn thing to work. The laptop might have been on its way out anyway but the heat sure didn't help it.

For vaping I like things cool as possible, less stress on everything including my peace of mind. If I can get a good hit with low power I can relax, and it seems I can.
