Will a kick affect the performance. What I mean is lets say I have a mechanical mod and I am using 18650 IMR without the kick. It takes 6 hours to drain the battery or for me to replace the battery. If I start using the kick will it take more time to drain the battery or enhance the performance. Will it affect the battery life?

Thanks in advance.

Totally depends on what power you are running at.

The kick is adjustable wattage, the higher you set it, the shorter your battery will last.

When running without a kick, the resistance of your atomizer will greatly effect battery life.

Basically it's impossible to answer without more information. There is inefficiency in every boost circuit, which means you are loosing power, so in general you will get less vape time when using a regulated device (like the kick) but seeing as regulated devices are able to hold the set voltage until the battery is depleted, compared to slowly degrading in performance, it's also possible you'll get more real-world vape time when using the kick.

It all depends!

Thank you for the information. I guess it will be more testing and finding out. I am looking to use 1.2ohm resistance as per recommended by my colleague in kayfun 3.1.

And again this also is 100% preference. The Ohms you use compared to the voltage you chose to set it at. I like my Kayfun at 1.5..6..7ish someone else might like it at 3

My opinion on regulated vs non is you get a little more vape time before you have to change the battery unregulated you are loesing voltage the second you start using it. Regulated it should stay pretty constant until the battery is drained to the point that it will not power the device.

I like RDAs and Genys on unregulated and things like the kayfun, Ithaka, and carto tanks on regulated but thats just me. There really is no right or wrong answer just what each person might take a fancy to.

I agree. Basically what you "lose" in battery time you more than make up for because of consistent performance.

Using your 1.2 ohm coil, let's say your personal sweet spot is 8 watts.

On an unregulated device, with a fully charged battery, you start at 14.7 watts - WAY outside of your happy place. You get closer and closer as battery voltage drops, finally hitting your sweet spot when you get down to 3.1 volts - which quite frankly is below the voltage at which you should be charging the battery.

With a Kick, you set your wattage at 8, and the kick will put 3.1 volts to your device all the way from fully charged to 3.2 volts, where it cuts off, and you grab a fresh battery and start over.

From my experience the kick and kick2 shorten vapable time significantly.
Provari vs. kick2 at the same wattage: The kicked device will not last as long by a quite big margin.
Unregulated mech vs. kick2: The difference is even bigger. Though this comparison
is highly subjective, since it depends on what kind of battery drop-off you find acceptable.

depends on the mod the kick2 is supposed to have voltage drop compensation for the mod it is in and i find it doesnt always seem to work. but in my brass mods im pulling batteries at 3.2 volts where the same .9 ohm coil unregulated will drop off at 3.55-3.6 so in certain situations i am getting substantially longer times using the kick.

the brass nemesis and the kick have actually become my favorite regulated mod as of late running two days easy on a 2900 panny.

I've been using sigelei kicks the last 6 months, I bought several out of a coop. They are still going after over 6 months of daily use along with the batteries (Efests) I bought not long after. They way I see it is that I rebuild all my own heads and have them consistantly at 2.0 ohms, with the kick adjusted right its a mighty nice vape. The kick shuts down @3.4 volts so that saves me overdraining my batteries. I've built protank down to 1.3 and still the kick works fine with no burning or funny tastes but my sweetspot is 2.0 ohm heads that give me 12+ hours on a 650 battery. I have 350's and 500's also but I can heat up a 350 quite quickly in my kicked mech, the 500's a little bit warm but the 650's don't heat up at all.
Yes..some of my batteries are getting tired but IMO 6 months on batteries that are getting daily use is pretty good.
The kicked mechs I use regularly is Sigelei#8(with replaced brass pin), KTS+(completely sanded all battery points, silver solder the bottom spring), Smoktech Telescope mod and a Smok Bolt.
Generally speaking I'm very happy wiht my kicks and their performance in my mechs

Thank you for the information. I like to have a consistent flow and thus thinking to buy the kick.

That is awesome information. Thank you very much. I like it with numbers and it makes sense.

Thank you for sharing your experience. From what I get is that it is worth buying a kick and try it. I am a big fan of consistency so I think I should surely try the kick.
