I occasionally see people here talking how there are some forces out there that are trying to ban e-cigarettes. What are the reasons? I have heard that it's because they could be used by kids. But this excuse seems weak as you could remedy that by only selling them by authorized dealers or smoke shops (vape shops)

Lost revenue (taxes), lobbying, and corruption are the reasons. The politicians of this land have already pretty much declared war against the citizens they supposedly represent, so loud voices of reason, education and common sense are our best weapons of defense.

IF I ever hear of a proposed ban in the US or if it ever comes to a reality, I will be ordering gallons of liquid and hundreds of carts

Yes, even though I have only been doing this for a few weeks. I will be doing the same. Spend some serious dough on liquid, batteries, tanks, and atomizers!

The world is full of busybodies and people who want to tell you how you should live, what products you can buy, what you can eat, what you should drink, what you should read,...... There will always be people who think they know what is best for you and there will always be a portion of those people who think they are helping you by imposing their wishes upon your existence.

At least one state seems to be getting pissy about non-tobacco flavored cartos and juices like fruit and food flavors. I guess because they think they'll attract kids and also now flavored real cigs are banned nationally. I think they should have to get rid of all of those fruit flavored liquors too then - like wine. Grape flavor - that's gonna attract kids. haha

I think the problem comes from the fact that we are still a new group, and that we are not concentrated in one area of the country. As a political group we have almost no power. I think that by getting our doctors on board with us, we may have a chance to keep e-cigs from being totally banned. Also, by getting more and more converts, we will increase our exposure. But to be on the safe side, I am stocking up as best as I can.

I've been thinking about buying some lots of atomizers on alibaba or ........... I've been looking into how to extract nic from plants. I have 500 ml of 100mg nic juice now and I'll buy a couple more liters, if the ban looks imminent. I already DIY juice and the rest of the ingredients would be pretty hard to ban. A functional PV isn't all that hard to make with generic parts provided you have the atomizer.

Don't just prepare for the ban- FIGHT IT.

Check out the legislation forum on this site. See what's going on.

Join CASAA.

Write to newspapers and websites that publish information about e-cigs.

And, maybe most importantly, tell everybody about e-cigs. What they are, why they are a MUCH safer alternative to smoking, why they are one of relatively few effective alternatives, why you love'em, why they should be available.

You can stock up all you want, but don't just let it happen.

Keep an eye on what gets posted here:
Electronic Cigarette News.

Like others who've commented here, I've purchased a big hoard of hardware and juice. I've got about 200 blank cartos.
I also bought a D.I.Y kit. I'm hoping to wean myself off nicotine before any ban goes into effect. I'll make my own juice if flavors are banned.
I's all very maddening. Too many damn busy bodies in this country.

Yes, if you're even a half decent writer, post comments on ecig stories that are posted online.
I've got a Google news alert set for ecig articles. Warning: this can be bad for your blood pressure.
Here's 2 recent examples of "Journalism" that need comments:
E-Cigarettes Touted As Safer Smoking Alternative - Health News Story - WTAE Pittsburgh
Studies say electric cigarettes are not what they seem

Unbelievable how lazy and sloppy these "journalists" are.

Land of Southern Belles :)
Tennessee just had the first vote last week to ban, have not heard the results yet. :( Tried to call my congressman, and no answer, no callback. Sent email.

But, seems like those opposed to e-cigs, treat it like regular cigs. They wont listen to facts!

Looks like Tennessee will be among those states that wont let you vape in public.... sigh.....
