E-cig ban...

Desoto County, Ms. is starting to ban the E-Cig. I plan to write the city council to protest. Can someone provide me with info to convince these people that we are NOT harming the public with our vapor?
My husband and I were nearly dead from double pneumonia and COPD until we got off the real cigarettes. E-Cigs actually saved our lives. Our doctors are thrilled ....we puff away in the doctor's office.
We shop and eat out in Southaven and Hernando, Ms.....and now we are told we no longer can use our E-Cigs in public.....HELP

Government reasoning for banning ecigs is not due to health concerns and mostly due to pressure from potential losses in tax revenue along with Pharmaceutical and Tabaco companies who stand to lose a great deal of money and of course those kickbacks to politicians just wouldn't be the same without their big profits. Of course there is also the concern that vaping will become popular and introduce new people to the habit, that's probably a valid concern but there are other ways to deal with it. Doesn't matter what info you give them, good or bad, they don't care, all they care about is how many people are standing behind you that could make an impact in voting them out of power.

Government, local and national, is in the hands of people who want tell us what to do and what not to do. Today the World Health Organisation recommended banning vaping in public areas, and you can be sure they will get their way in countries such as yours and mine, populated as they are by the passive and the gullible. Go to CASAA to find good studies that strongly support the safety of vaping for those nearby and that it is 100% safer for the user than smoking. Here is one of the best and latest studies which was funded by consumers, not the vaping industry so no bias:

anything shy of petitions to your county officials (personally in the old county where I resided for the last 25 years, they did something boneheaded like that I'd tell them to start looking for another job come re election time and go about making THAT happen, with two kids in school and two friends the city's biggest gossips, I'd make it happen too) they had some bone headed idea to concrete up our neighborhood swimming pool about ten years ago, its' still there. js.

get active, and inform whoever voted on that ban (it'll be in the record) about ecigs there's a lot of info out now, give it to them.

or don't vape in public? that's a tough one, vaping where the ciggie smokers are is just going to aggrevate your COPD, that stinks. Sorry!
