Will higher ohms increase battery life?

I use IBTanks almost exclusively so I thought this sub forum might be a good place to ask. I'm currently using the SmokTech 2.0 ohm cartomizers that OCD sells on the IBTanked website. I like the tanks and cartos so much that my vaping habits have changed substantially. Everything is working out great with one minor exception. I'm wearing down my MVP2 battery much faster than before.

Before I switched to carto tanks I was getting an average of about 740 puffs from my MVP. Now I'm lucky to get 500 puffs. I'm wondering if the 3.2 ohm cartomizers will help me get back closer to 740 puffs.

Here is what has changed in my vaping habits:

1. I vape more often now because the flavors are so much better.

2. I take longer vapes. About 8 seconds per vape on average as opposed to the 5 second vapes I used to take. This is also due to the better flavor.

3. I'm using 2.0 ohm cartos as opposed to the 2.4 ohm clearos I used to use.

I almost always vape at 4.0 volts and I did the same thing when I used clearos. I know that number 2 above is most of the reason why I'm getting less puffs. Not sure about number 3. Will the higher resistance 3.2 ohm cartos help me get more puffs from my MVP?

Thanks.

I am no electrical engineer, but it seems 1 and 2 is the reason for a decrease in battery life you are seeing. Be forewarned I am just taking what I have read and applying it to what I have experienced.

A higher ohm coil is going to take longer to heat, therefore taking more electricity for your longer vapes. It seems you are getting a better vape experience out of the Ibtanked cartotank, so if it were me, I wouldn't worry about it. I have been using my new cartotank at around 3.5-3-7v's an haven't really noticed a decrease in flavor or vapor.

Thanks for the replies folks.

I was wondering if the higher ohms would use more power or less power. I know I would have to increase the voltage to achieve the same wattage but I wasn't sure about the effect that would have on battery drain. I have a partial understanding of the "ohms law" but I don't really understand it completely. Sounds like I should stick with the 2.0 ohm cartos that I'm using now. I do like the flavor that I get from them.

The thought did occur to me that maybe my MVP is dying a slow death. It's just under 4 months old. The good news is that I have another MVP on the way so I can rotate the two when one is charging.
