some of the pannys dont reach as the body is too fat for the nipple to stick out all the way. out of 4, 2 didnt work till i bent the nipple a little.

and a trip to candlepowerforums will introduce you to the guy running aw hes a regular poster.. while anythings possible i doubt aw is rebranded, several times they are proven to be high discharge and longer lasting so who could he be rebranding?

I order two Panasonic CGR18650CH's. Mainly due to the super great price. $7.49ea! Compared to $12.99+ for the 2900PD's.

those are wonderfull batteries, i have several but i wanted to see what the fuss was about as the 2250 hybrids are being phased out of production (hence the clearance pricing) last night i went to bed and decided even though at 10 oclock the 2900 wasnt dead i would charge it anyways, amazing lol

but you cant go wrong with the 2250's and they should be scooped up asap as venders are running out and there is no new stock coming.

my AW 2k's sit neglected since these panny's showed up. but the more backups the better.

Will these work? I know that I need unprotected high drain, but I can't tell if the ones in the link have the nipples on them or not. I'm pretty sure I need the nipple tops. If so, does any one have a link?

I have read that AW's are re-branded, not sure if that's true or not.

Thanks.

NO, those batteries do not have a nipple top and will not work in the Provari. I got the exact same batteries in from fasttech the other day. The Provari requires a nipple top to make contact inside the unit. Provari uses that as a fail safe to make sure you don't insert the batteries backwards. Other than not being compatible with the Provari, they're great batteries.

AW = initials of Andrew Wong. He's the guy who buys better quality batteries from different manufacturers and resells them with the (AW) sticker/brand. True story. Now, as to whether or not someone in China has a roll of those little AW stickers and puts them on their batteries and sells them as genuine AW's, no one knows for sure.

wow good call man!! didnt even look at the picture just saw the model number as i buy from orbtronics and always get nips even when i dont need em (they may end up in the Prov at some point), lol

the other point about aw's; this is why it is important to buy batteries from reputable vendors, usually they act as the middle man for the batteries and many of the better vendors wont put up with gettings knockoffs or seconds.
orbtronics guarantees they sell first run A grade sku's and so far RTD has never sold me a bad AW.
