Hey guys

I have an Atmizoo Roller on the way. I'm Looking to get some more 18350 IMR batts and would like to know if FLAT TOP 18350s will work in the roller. Im finding the FLAT TOP batteries are priced cheaper than the button top. As far as I know performance is the same with both batteries as the only difference is the top.

Will a flat top 18350 IMR work inside the Roller?

Thanks all

I just ordered my first mod as well
and now Im looking for batteries and getting confused
I am not bargen hunting for batteries but have some questions
So far I understand AW and IMR is good and any battery with the word fire in it not so good

But I see continuous contradicting posts on with mech It must be unprotected or with mech make sure you get protected batteries and unprotected is dangerous with mech's
can some one make sense of this?

I am also looking at 18490 which would work in the mech I have coming and I do plan on getting a provari in the future
do they have to be different or the same as far as protected and unprotected

A mech mod has no protection what so ever, VV or VW mods have protection built in. In a mech mod it's safer to use protected batts or get a fuse. Hoosier Ecigs has these: Vapesafe Fuse, and several other places have them also. If you get a kick it also has built in proction.

IMR, CGH or NCR doesn't have a protection circuit built in, they have a newer chemistry that will vent gas instead of popping like an unprotected Li-ion. The Panasonic NCR's are the newest in the line up, they have capacity's over 2200mAh. Protected Li-ion has a lower amp level than the IMR, CGH or NCR which tend to work better with low resistance attys or cartos.

Batteries and their different chemistries can indeed be confusing. I've done quite a bit of research of this recently, and put my findings in this blog, which should help you understand the chemistries, and which chemistry is best for your application:

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected?

I can make a long story short right now. The battery guru's of ECF (rolygate et all) updated their recommendations for batteries here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html

In a nutshell, this is the recommended preferences, in order, for most applications: "We now advise that IMR Li-Mn ... rechargeables are used in APVs, in preference to rechargeable Li-ions. We suggest the best option, in order, is:

1 - AW IMR (I'm assuming all high-quality IMR batteries fit here also - eFest, MNKE, Orbtronic, Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony)

2. - Panasonic hybrid

3. - good quality protected Li-Ion (AW, eFest, Orbtronic, Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony)

4. - brand protected Li-Ion (Trustfire, Ultrafire, Surefire)

5. - generic protected Li-Ion (least preferred)

Unprotected rechargeable Li-ion cells should not be used.
Standard cells (non-rechargeable) MUST NOT be used."

For serious sub-ohm vaping, special IMR batteries which have high cont. amp are required. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/432181-need-help-picking-best-battery-sub-ohm-vaping.html

AW makes an 18490 IMR that is very highly regarded. http://www.provape.com/AW-18490-Battery-p/aw18490.htm I hope this information proves helpful.

Thanx will def go with one of these options
1 - AW IMR (I'm assuming all high-quality IMR batteries fit here also - eFest, MNKE, Orbtronic, Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony)
And Ill read all that over
