We have debates on ECF all the time. We hadn't gotten anywhere near being ornery yet. No harm no foul. :p

Even if the green Panny IS UN-protected, you can still use it if you don't push it. Common juice attachments such as cartos and clearos won't push this battery beyond its limits. Just don't use an rba or Kick with it and you'll be safe.

I hope you got the information that you were inquiring about.

I ran some numbers on an Ohm calculator. assuming max charge on a mech to be 5v (I know that is high), an a device at 1 ohm the amps is 5.

Bad please check my math but the green panny should be ok as long as you do not go below 1 ohm.

Let's assume your battery is 4.2 volts, which it will be fresh off your charger. A 1 ohm coil will ask 4.2 amps at 17.64 watts. You have a decent safe window of safety. Allways check your coil resistance on a frequent basis as coils can change resistance. Just nudging your wick by removing the top cap can change the resistance markedly.

close thread before this becomes a debate over morals, beliefs, and whether steak is better cooked rare or well done.

HA I was not on my soap box just showing some genuine concern. I emailed Rick at RTD here is the response I got

Yes, I get my batteries directly from the manufacturer (AW,Efest,MNKE)

The Panasonics are hard to get directly from Panasonic. I have Efest get them for me as I have been dealing with them for a long time and trust them.

This is why I trust RTD Vapor.

Thanks bad. I thought it was 4.2 volts off the charger but couldn't remember so I went with a more risky number to err on the safe side (5).

I got my green panasonics off amazon from a company listed as "firstenergy." Their profile says they sell to honda, toyota, nec and others. But my gray ones are from fast tech which is why im using my green ones for now until my aw's arrive.

I get batteries mostly from RTD too - they're a rock solid vendor.

But I'd like to point out, I ALSO actually trust FastTech.
I trust them to CARRY cheap knockoffs, some of it of inferior quality - but I ALSO trust them not to MISLABEL anything, or market a copy as a branded original. With batteries especially - YES - you have to know exactly what you need, by researching elsewhere - but if they have what you need, it'll probably be the best price.

Fore sure RTD is not the only company in the world who sells good batteries. I just like them because they are vape related. Trusted,They will answer an email most times fairly quick. And you get a cool RTD flashlight, and sometimes a free zipper case;-)

The issue I have always had with FastTech and other like vendors is you have to dig and do research on what type of battery it is, because they sell both un-protected ncr batteries as well as protected ncr and IMR batteries. FastTech often does not differentiate what the battery is.

The problem is if you shop at FastTech, you better damn well know your battery chemisties. All responsibility falls on the customer.

Novices who do not know their battery chemistries can easily purchase the wrong battery for their APV from Fastech, EBay, or Amazon.

A company like RTD Vapor sells only batteries that can be used safely in mods and never sell unprotected icr batteries which battery experts say should never be used in a mod.

I have seen many US vendors post outright wrong information about batteries so ... shrug

That comment ignores my point and you make a very generalized statement that can't be easily proven. I've yet to see RTD post wrong information on batteries. Some of their descriptions are lacking, just as FastTech's are. But at least all of the items that RTD lists on their site are appropriate for vaping, unlike FastTech.

An under-educated novice is better off buying from someone like RTD than they are to purchase blindly at FastTech just for safety reasons.

That's not a point against, though. I mean crapping on a store because it has a bigger (ok, massively) inventory of stuff? That's silly.

But back to the point, this has nothing to do with the original reason we are discussing it at all -- the false claim that their genuine items should be doubted.
