I have really noticed how much better my vaping experience is with a cartomizer and a fully-charged battery, and I spend a lot of time at my desk.

I have a Riva 510 kit and Boge cartomizers now, would I need to buy anything else to use this passthrough? (it says it uses a TITAN atomizer - so do I need that or can I use my 510 cartomizers?)

Yes but get a couple of 10440 batteries...they will eventually die. I would suggest the 5v as long as you aren't using LR cartomizers but don't plug it into your computer usb...you will need that adapter. The other one I suggest can be plugged into your computer plus go with you as a PV battery.

I suggest these:
plug
pass1
pass2

The madvapes direct (batteryless) passthrough (pass1 in hairball's links above) is my favorite vaping experience to date. It seems to perform well across a wide range of carto ohm ratings, which makes me think it might not be putting out 5v, and I don't care. And I don't have to worry about batteries at all when I'm using it. The downside is that you probably shouldn't plug it into your computer, but use a USB "wall wart" instead.

Thank you - sorry for being so stupid, but do I need those 3 items plus extra batteries? It looked like the battery was attached to the end, I didn't know they were replaceable.

I have standard Boge cartomizers I think (marked 510D Black Regular). I don't have to use the computer for USB power, I just want what will work best to get the full-charged effect.

Just to clarify: a malfunctioning direct (batteryless) PT can damage your computer, so it's best to use an AC-to-USB wall adapter instead. It's really not much trouble, once you've got the setup you want. At work, I run an extension with an AC adapter up to my desk. At home, the PT reaches from a power strip under my desk with no trouble.

Be careful not to stress the points at either end of the USB cable where it attaches to the PT body and USB plug. Those are apparently common failure points, though I've had no issues personally.

Thanks, I think it will reach from the power strip at my desk. I already have too much USB stuff plugged into my computer anyway.

I was reading about connection point stress in the reviews. I imagine people tend to not think and walk away with it at first?

I am really excited about trying this, but I am going to have to stop ordering new stuff every day LOL

Search the forums on this. I think the way it's commonly done is putting some kind of sleeve, like a straw, over the connection points and then wrapping in electrical tape.

ElectronicNicStix sells a PT with excellent build quality from this point of view, and I use it every day at work, but it burns really hot and I can't use it with anything lower than 3 ohms.
