I wonder what the winning product will look like. Doesn't matter to me, I enjoy messing around with new gear and figuring out how to make some finicky gadget work. But presumably he is talking about some kind of plug and play e-cig for the majority (I'm guessing) of people who don't want to spend their time doing that. Like a VW cigalike with a self cleaning coil? Or just something that doesn't leak. It's actually quite hard to visualize something that is easy to use and does everything you need it to do.
The winning product hasnt been invented yet, said Craig Weiss, the chief executive of njoy, an e-cigarette start-up. What he meant was that while the e-cigarette devices developed so far have helped some people switch from smoking to vaping, they havent yet become so good as to obsolete the cigarette, which is, he says, his companys goal. But that day will come, he is convinced; the industry is innovating like crazy.
