Darn it!!! The owner of the vape shop that I always go to said that I could build coils down to .15 ohms on istick 100W mods... I didn't take his word for it I researched it online and I read the same thing that he told me I guess nobody tells the truth anymore. I got this off of "myvaporstore.com":

"The iStick 100W by eleaf builds upon the success of the previous iStick devices. Powerful vapor can be generated due to the expanded range of output voltage (2V-10V) / wattage(5W-100W). The iStick 100W features the ability to fire atomizers as low as 0.15 ohm which is perfect for blowing giant clouds and great flavor. It retains the strong spring loaded 510 contact pin and wear-resistant stainless steel threads. The iStick 100W requires (2) high amp 18650 batteries to power this incredible device which can be easily accessed using a powerful dual magnetized battery cover."
Having the ability to fire that low does not mean it is necessarily stable at that resistance...

I totally understand what you're saying I was only looking at a quad coil RDA because then I would be able to make a coil with more wraps, giving me more room for cotton. And now here comes my stupid questions... I learned to make a parallel coil and I'm learning how to do twisted coils but the app I use 2 help me meet my target resistance does not have the option of twisted wire. The only option it gives me is to import the gauge of the wire, whether the wire is round or ribbon Kanthal, and from there, I can Input whether or not I'm building dual, triple, or quad coils. Anyone know of an app that will allow me to input the different types of wire light round or ribbon, the type of coil I'm building like twisted and some of the other wires that you guys have suggested that I use??
And now on to the trucker. I'm so glad you said that about lungs because I know exactly what you talking about that's why I'm so adamant to build between .18 and .2 because it seems to give me the most vapor, it's not hard on my lungs and it doesn't throw me into a coughing fit that makes me pee my pants. But for the most part I only use Cold Fusion juice 70/30 VG/PG content with a beautifully mild throat hit & a BEAUTIFUL flavor for everyone... I would strongly suggest that if there's anybody reading this who has not tried cold fusion please please please you gotta try it. You can personally blame me if you don't like it. But so far everybody that I have turned on the cold fusion now smoke nothing but.
Can somebody explain what you mean by a large surface area or send me a picture of an RDA that you consider having a large surface area?
And one more stupid question & then I'm on my way. I notice a lot of my RDAs come with 4 wicks that are wrapped up in what looks 2 b a 30 mm coil and then another 4 wicks wrapped up in a manner similar 2 the other. I've noticed that some people like to wick and some people would rather use things like cotton bacon. I've gotten used to using the cotton bacon but I must admit It almost seems like wicking would be better with my Fishbone RDA cuz the drip pan has six air holes drilled right down to the top of the mod itself, and once you put the cotton in and the cotton expands when you put the e juice in it its very very very difficult to figure out where the six vent holes begin. Any ideas guys and gals? I was thinking that maybe I should take advantage of the witch that came for free with the fishbone RDA but here's where I need you. Obviously I have to take the coil off of both sets of 4 wicks but if I'm wrapping my coils @ 3 millimeters, should I be trying to fit all 4 weeks in 1 single coil? If not how many weeks am I supposed to insert into each coil? I'm looking to buy another mech mod, (a POWERFUL mech mod) my vape shop has a mod that has a couple of different size barrels. I thought he said it was a "Munson" mod but when I went 2 look it up online, I couldn't find 1...maybe it wasn't a Munson but it definitely began with an M. Also he's trying 2 sell me a Hellboy mod 2 go with my Hellboy RDA or the fu authentic. I personally like the fu chai but he doesn't have 1...what do u guys think of the mods I mentioned... if you don't feel comfortable giving me the names of the more powerful mods, then can one of you tell me what specs I'm looking for to enable me to get a powerful mod with good cloud vapor? keep in mind, I'm running a Hellboy RDA, Troll RDA & Fishbone RDA but I have no problem buying an RDA that u tell me 2 get because of lg surface area. Also I've got 1 married set of LG he4 & 1 married set of Sony VTC4 4 my parallel istick, 1 LG HE4, 1 SONY VTC4 & 1 Subohmcell that I alternate in my AR 15...thanks again, if I didn't have u 2 converse with, I'd have 2 talk 2 my roommate about this & I think she wouldve thrown me out by now.

You can roughly guess that the twisted wire is going to run about 75% of the ohms that a single wire will run for the app. This will vary depending on how tightly the wire is twisted. A tighter twist will result in a longer path thus getting you closer to 100%. With no twist you would be at 50% You could do some test coils and refine the ratio based on what your measurement is. When your whole build is finished a 15% difference from your target resistance won't make much difference. You might be interested in trying a vertibraid. Off the top of my head you should get roughly 20% to 25% of the resistance per coil that a single wire of the same guage would give you according to the app.

If it is steamengine, just select calculations as a quad coil, 4x wires, because each wire becomes a parallel circuit, this applies to a standard quad coil, dual twisted coil, or dual parallel side by side coil.

Surface area describes how much wire is contacting the wick and juice. Standard wrapped contact coil (nano, micro, macro) for example, in coil example 1 we have a 30awg coil in an 8/7 wrap, 2mm ID, almost 2ohms, needs low watts, but a narrow contact to the wicking to pull liquid into the gaps to vaporize (remember like soldering when e-liquid gets hot it moves to the hottest part of the coil so will wrap around the coil, just like solder flows toward the hot flame and flame contact point on a pipe joint being solder welded together), next coil we have 24awg 6/5 wrap, 3mm ID, roughly about 0.6ohms, the 2nd coil has more surface area compared to the 1st due to the ID and the wire gauge.
30awg coil from side 24awg coil from side
........ - - - - - -

dbrandt or another recently been bragging about a dual config they been using lately using 30awg (dual triple parallel (3x wires per coil a sextuple coil), lands in at the 0.5ish ohm range, 2mm or 2.5mm ID, almost an inch or 3/4inch long per coil, that amount of surface area he leaves super-sub-ohm build cloud chasers just standing jaws on the floor he can out cloud their 22awg 5/4 3.5mm Nichrome80 0.2ohm dual coil cloud configs wimpering "Mommy..." and WTF. This is how Clapton coils, Alien Wires, Twisted, and Braided wires really shine, all that hot wire pulls liquid into nooks and crannies in the wire to be vaporized, thus the surface area on these wires are greater and they SCUD on basic builds all day long. Its all experimenting with types of wires, types of coils, again wicking, and reducing your airflow blockages in the deck (posts, wicking, overly large coils, etc.), these little tweeks can give massive cloud improvement over building lower and lower. I was in the cloud chasing game for almost 6months last year, fiddled here, fiddled there, anymore I just build to suit my fancy atm, mostly twisted and basic builds with an occasional clapton or double helix (wickless) thrown into the mix. I go to my favorite vape shop haunt and hang out there on my days off a lot, turn heads with just a simple setup on a Cartel /w Helios, younger cloud chasing kids always ask to see my config and are like WTF, that is out vaping me, they can't wrap their heads around the physics and designs I use to get optimal cloud production inside a flavor chaser RDA.
