Long ago, I used to do some circuit board prototyping and some wire wrapping of Telephony/Data termination.

So I was thinking, does anyone ever use a wire wrapping tool, to make coils? Trying to do a search with key words of course gives a lot of hits, but not exactly what I am looking for.

Just one of those middle of the night things that popped into my head, but I no longer have a wire wrapping tool in my life, to go and try it out with.

LOL use to be an electronics tech and had the same thought. Would have to be small diameter coils. There are some others out there. Look under jewelry and wire wrapping and mandrels i believe is where i found it googling it. Just deleted my book marks as I use a jig. The biggest wire wrap bit i had as a tech was like 20something but the post hole in it was not very big. Somewhere between 1/32 and 1/16th it's been a while. If you already have the gear fine but to buy it may cost more than a jig or the jewelry thing which I think was $30.00. Jigs go for $19.00.
