ok so i'm still too much of a noob to figure this out. this is my first time tryin to make a mod with a usb or variable voltage.

so... can someone give me some pointers on how to wire this (usb mini)

to this (so that it can charge the batteries)

hopefully it's even possible. do i have to bother with the data pins? i assume not, but then again i'm kinda lost

thanks again for any more help!

You'll need a charging circuit to do that & I don't think it would work too well with a 2 battery VV mod. I've only seen them incorporated into single battery mods. But definitely DO NOT run wires straight from your USB to the batteries... Unless ofc you WANT to turn your mod into a bomb.

hmmm it would appear i have even less of an idea of what i'm doing then i thought i guess...

what's the issues with using 2 batteries instead of one?

You need special charging circuitry to make sure they charge evenly. Battery packs have such circuitry built in hence why you can just plug them into a charger.

Don't be discouraged, I didn't know anything about any of this stuff when i started a few months ago. Now I've made 10 mods & have several more in the planning stage & I'm starting to slowly learn how to read circuit diagrams and understand spec sheets (though I still have a long ways to go). I've also started rebuilding my CE2's (thanks to Scubabatdan). Learning new stuff is part of the fun of modding. Just lurk around in the modders section and read up, there are alot of people here that really know their stuff.

It might get bulky but you could do something like wiring the batteries individually to two separate charging circuits and then using something like a TTDP switch to connect them back together for use.

Position 1 = Charge
Position 2 = Off
Position 3 = PV On

This schematic is kinda messy but it should work. Someone a little better than me could probably refine it some.

Edit: Forgot the VV but you can insert that at the atty connection...
Edit 2: You will probably need to keep the charger input negative side isolated instead of tied to a common ground....

I have suggested this a few times but nobody has ever commented so I don't know if nobody likes the idea or what.

Battery Junction has a battery pack that is already wired with the appropriate pcb.
Use that in conjuncton with the univ charger and a power jack ( usb, dc, whatever ),
and you have on-board charging. I am using a dc jack because it is easier
to mount in the box.

You can get an idea from this schematic for my VV box that I am doing next. View attachment VV BOX MOD V2.pdf
I used the board that has everything built in for VV, but can re-configure
for the circuitry from Madvapes.

edit - the other thing about my design is, I can take out the batt pak and plug 12V / 3amp transformer ( laptop charger )
into the dc jack and vape at home with no batts

yea i'm way too much of a noob to understand schematics. i think i kinda do but it mostly just looks like hieroglyphics to me. can that vv reg i have make a single battery put out more than 3.7v? not sure exactly how they work, first time attempting to use one for anything

and as for the charging, that's the main thing i actually want in the mod, so i have to get that figured out
