Hello! New here. I searched for an answer first, but I didn't find one.

I just got a Wismec dna 200. Now I need to get some good batteries

I will be using a Uwell Crown Ni200 0.15ohm coil between 50 and 100watts around 450 to 500F.

I was looking at the Sony VTC4's, but I wanted to see if that would be a good pick or not for the coil and watts

I got AWT 18650 3000mah 3.7v 40A for it just to get vaping, but I know these are not very good.

Any good suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

The VTC4 batteries would be great, but if you aren't going much over 100 watts, any quality 20a cell will be fine(sony vtc5, samsung 25r, lg he2, lg he4, lg hg2). With you using temp control, you really aren't going to be firing at 100w for the most part. It will just fire at that level until the coil is hot, then drop the wattage and keep the coil at the same temperature. I would recommend LG HG2 batteries. They are 3000mah batteries that are rated for 20a, and you will have a decent safe margin and get excellent battery life.

Those AWT's being rewraps and at 3000mah, most likely they are LG HG2 20ampConstant/40amp Pulse Discharge rated, 3000mah, most likely B or C bin discards LG didn't wish to put their own name and wrap on. They will still work in the triple series config the Wismecs use, even at max 200watts setting, 200watts/9.6lowest cutoff voltage=20.83333 amps max CDR needed. Truth be told, being they might be LG's under the wrapper, the LG HG2 Chocolate brown is still the best option, followed by the VTC4 and Samsung 25R, followed by the Sony VTC5, LG HE2/HE4, LG HD2, or any other 20amp CDR battery.

Thought the LG HE2's were rated at 35A 2500mah?

Your Wismec DNA is a 3-battery mod. Any good 20A battery should work. I use the LG HG2s in my RX200, which is the same mod with a different chip, but makes the same power level. Another good option would be the Panasonic 30Qs. There are other excellent 20A batteries, but the ones I mentioned are 3000mAh and give awesome battery life.

HE2 and HE4 are both rated at 20A. I believe they have an HB2 that is rated for 30A, though. It is only a 1500mah battery, just like its HB6 counterpart.

Currently, the only true 30A batteries that I am aware of are the LG HB2, HB4, HB6, and Sony VTC3. They are all around 1500mah. The VTC4 is a 20A battery, but it can handle the stresses of being run at 30A for a while at the expense of shorter cell life.

Here is a great blog by a fellow member on the forum. @Mooch is a great person and does some awesome tests.

So which exactly is the best battery for vaping? I read on the forum that the LG HG2's?
The safest one that fits your style of vaping.

A higher amp battery will generally have a smaller capacity (mah rating). And a higher capacity battery (mah) will have a lower amp rating. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Not everyone vapes higher wattages with a high wattage mod that requires a high amp rating. A lower amp battery with more mah capacity might fit a so-called tootle puffer's (low watts/high ohm) vaping style better. For example, a Panasonic NCR18650BD 3200mAh 10Amp CDR. The 10 amps CDR is plenty for their style of vaping, and the additional mah allows for longer battery time.

A mech mod vaper that sub-ohms will need a higher amp battery. So will someone who vapes over 60 watts in a high wattage regulated mod. The trick is to figure out how many amps CDR (continuous discharge rate) your style of vaping requires, and go from there.

Another point to consider is not all 18650 batteries are created equal. And you can't always believe different battery "manufacturer's" specifications. Many use a "pulse rating" which is misleading and totally useless.

LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo, and Sony make the vast majority of the world's 18650 batteries. You can trust the specifications by these manufacturers. They sell their top batteries as their own brand, and sell the lesser quality batteries to other "manufacturers".

Many "off-brand" manufacturers simply buy the lower-quality second/third bin batteries from the above manufacturers, re-wrap them with their own brand name, and then advertise over-rated specifications (ie Efest, Imren, etc). You never know what cell these manufacturers are using in their brand of batteries, nor the quality of that cell. Why not simply buy from LG, Samsung, or Sony in the first place?

There are no 18650 batteries with a genuine rating over 30A!
