overall i consider wismec/joyetech a bottom tier brand. anything they do, smok and ijoy do better at the same price.

I think it all comes down to personal experience. I have an original eVic VT, 2 eVic VTC Minis, 1 Cuboid, 1 Cuboid Mini, 1 Ego AIO and 1 RX200S. I have never had a single problem with any of them. All of my tanks ( a couple dozen from various manuf.) fit flush, read properly and Temp control works perfect.

With that said, I bought an Alien 220 because I really like the look and it died after 2 weeks. Before it died I used it with multiple setups and could never get a decent TC vape from it. Plus I've been waiting over a month for SMOK to restock their US Warranty center so that they can send me a replacement.

yes personal experience does play a big part, but in the end numbers don't lie. The 510 pins on the RX200,200s, and 2/3 were known to have issues, so much so that wismec voids your warranty for not using a wismec atty on it. The RX300 and hedron have the same 510 pin. I personally dissected mine to see if it improved, and can confirm it's a really piss poor designed 510 pin.
Temp control is also sub par, that's easy to test with an o-scope. the wismec chips well decent, perform worse then the rest of the pack for temp control. smok isn't great either but performs a little better, but i heard the new firmware messed up TC on the alien. I haven't been able to test it personally as i'm working on other mods currently including the hedron (which has the RX200s chip and the RX300 510 pin) and the RX300 i just got in.
Sucks if you got a bad alien, but have you contacted madvapes? they are the US warranty center and they have aliens in stock (black, red, and gold)
I also have the new evic ordered as well to test and review. The wismec chip performs very well in watt mode, a little inaccurate on the high side but overall pretty good. they are cheap and good beater watt devices, but poorly designed overall. the 250 watt RX heats up in your hand at 100+ watts due to thin internal wiring. the hedron was supposed to fix it but at 150ish gets pretty warm in my hands. the alien didn't even do that at 150 watts to me.
I try and get chips from lots of manufacturers for testing so i can compare and contrast, that's what i like about reviewing mods. when it comes to attys it's mainly opinion, but when it comes to mods, it's more factual because testing numbers don't lie. There is a reason why wismec/joyetech products are so cheap. they skimp every step of the way. thinner internal wiring then it should be, poor 510 pins etc.
None of the "mid tier" mods like wismec, smok, etc work perfectly in temp mode. they are decent. Working perfectly would be the FSK or DNA chips. they are as close to perfect as you can get. surprisingly the battlestar blew away all the smok, wismec, ijoy etc mods in my TC testing. it's damn near close to par with the top brands. the liasmo snow wolf was surprisingly good as well. almost as good as the battlestar.
So in the end a lot comes out to what you want, how you vape, and price range. If it works for you and you like it by all means enjoy it! as long as it keeps you off tobacco ;) but for me I gotta keep it honest and report results as they are, for better or for worse.

I don't get VS releasing the Hedron at a premium price and not address the 510 and wiring. They were already pricing it up market, how much more would a decent 510 have really added (never mind wiring). It would have been way beter to put the money into that instead of the blue light fire button.

Totally agree. As u can tell it's not gonna get a good review from me. I mean it's different then the rx200 famous bad 510 but it still sucks. It isn't better. And now I hear the Primo has a crap 510 too. How Joyetech/wismec continue to get away with it and still have fans is beyond me

I think a lot of it has to do with how people vape. I prefer power mode, so I don't really get a lot of the issues the more technical vapers get. I just want a smexy mod that vapes well, doesn't die in a short period of time, and whose battery lasts all day (at least). I do play around with TC settings but I always end up going back to wattage mode. I definitely do appreciate you folks who really put these mods through their paces and report back, though! Thank you for your detailed insights into your findings. That was a very informative and enlightening read! :)

It's all Chinese mass produced crap, some last and some do not.....It's always a gamble
That's true for all mods but it's more of manufacturing quality. Sometimes things are just poorly designed where it isn't a manufacturing or even cheap materials issue. The 510 on the hedron and rx300 are just poorly designed. Even if it was made in the US with top of the line materials it would still be bad.

I agree with the no thanks. i got the hedron and rx300 for the "new" 510 pin and it's still crap. their temp control is subpar even for the price range standard and their mods are just poor quality. I'm gonna test and formal review the hedron and rx300 (well i already tested the hedron but need to record the review) and i have the new evic primo on the way but overall i consider wismec/joyetech a bottom tier brand. anything they do, smok and ijoy do better at the same price. and sometimes other companies too like smoant and their 1 mod lol.
sigelie/wismec/joyetech are 3 lines i pretty much never recommend. I never understood why they are so popular outside of sending fre stuff to hype men like rip trippers and people buying because of him. The RX i get cause price point/power, but it was still a poor mod and now with other triple batts mods on the market no reason to buy one
While I love my Smok Alien, all my Joyetech/Wismec/Eleaf mods definitely do better work in tc. The Alien was better with firmware 1.2.1 but it hasn't worked as good after I made the mistake of updating the firmware :-/

Neither are great. I haven't tested the newer firmware but the older one works decent for the alien. I mean they both prevent dry hits kinda. My 1st test on the hedron popped my coil at 300f. Had to reset it. I have it on video as well. So because of that I can't say that wismec does it better, but realistically none of them give a great TC experience.

@Anthony_Vapes, is the wiring improved on the rx300?

I haven't opened it yet. And I'm kinda scared to because the 510 is gonna break due to the .... design. So I'll figure that out by how much it heats up when I test it ;)

WISMEC is cranking out new gear faster than I can keep up! The Predator supports 2A rapid charging and can be used as a power bank. It takes dual 18650s, and has that sleek profile that is so popular lately. The screen is nice and big and it shows the charge on each battery, a feature I love.

The Elabo tank sounds pretty intriguing. It has a retractable top for filling and a childproof lock, and juice capacity is up to 4.9 ml (4.6 with one of the triple coil heads designed for it). Bummer it doesn't have a ceramic coil option. :(

I have only found them for pre-order so far. Hopefully the reviewers will get these soon!

I agree, firmware 1.2.1 was complete crap for TC. They do have a new update I installed a week or so ago, 1.2.1.1 or something like that. Now the SS316L is much better, not "oh wow" but much improved over the previous update.

1.2.1.1 worked terribly for me. On 1.2.2 now (earlier firmware) and tc works but not as well as 1.2.1. Choppy. On 1.2.1 I had to do some heavy tcr adjusting but tc was smoother.

Can you change from Celsius to Fahrenheit with the new update? I haven't updated mine since I got it. I don't even know what firmware I'm operating under, lol! It times out too fast to study it. :D

Silver and black in stock at a US vendor: Wismec Predator 228 Mod
Good prices! I needed the red one, though. I am very happy with Heaven Gifts'
customer service and they have all colors in stock so I went with them. Did you order one from the US vendor?
