The switch may not disassemble. I'd do a search on You Tube to see if any reviewers took it apart.

I don't know if the contact spray will work or not. If not, you might try a soaking in some isopropyl alcohol to clean it.

Yeah I can't take the switch apart, it's like it was pressed in... nothing I can find anywhere about taking it apart. I've also watched most of the reviews about the Rx Machina on YouTube, but nothing about disassembling the switch... the isopropyl alcohol sounds like a plan

I’d double check if there are any O-rings inside the switch before using isopropyl alcohol. You would think not but better to be safe than sorry. Some grades of rubber can dry out with prolonged exposure to isopropyl alcohol and Silicone is known to expand and swell.

WD40 is a penetrating solvent. Not the best lubricant. At first it may seem like a good lubricant but over time it becomes tacky and prone to collecting dust and dirt. Good for cleaning contacts but use a light machine oil afterwards for any close tolerance moving parts.
As far as I can see the switch is just a spring with an insulater over it, and an insulated spring loaded 510 insert, it doesn't seem to have any o rings

it's not the lubricant I'm talking about. they do a special contact cleaner for electronics and various other applications

Fair enough. It’s a common misconception that WD40 is a lubricant, which it is not (I do believe they also develop a lubricant). Even if using one of it’s variant contact cleaners, it’s advised to use a light lubricant on anything that has a close tolerance moving parts. I am not familiar with the Machina switch, but if the tolerances are very close, little dab of light oil can go a long way.

the WD in WD-40 stands for water displacement. not relevant to this but i was pleased to aquire that little nugget of knowledge.

It also makes a nice salad dressing. Joking of course.

Quite a versatile solvent. If you have children it removes crayon from the walls and gum from carpet. Spray it on winter boots for improved water proofing. And my most favorite use…removing sticky, gummy price tags!

The Wismec Machina is honestly the worst tube I own, the voltage drop is horrendous. I've cleaned it, used both Deoxit Gold and Noalox and done everything I can but it is the absolute worst hitting Mod that I own. Conductivity is so bad with builds around 0.18Ω I get hot buttons, shame. There are much better tubes out there in it's price range.

Yeah, I haven't got rubbing alcohol yet to try and clean the switch. I'll try that then I don't know if it doesn't work... I have been looking at other tube mech's like the Timesvape Dreamer and the Vgod elite among others. I really like a tube mech and up until now I have been happy with the Rx Machina, I've only been using it for 6 weeks and this happened, but I just don't trust it any more... not sure what to do now

Well, judging from the photo's, the Dreamer does have some ventilation holes around the fire button, while the Vgod Elite apparently does not. That automatically would make my choice easier from a safety perspective. Both are hybrid top mechs, which I guess you have experience with already.

I like the dreamer best, not done researching yet... I've never used a hybrid mech so gotta learn a bit more... been watching YouTube videos about them, and understand ohms law and battery safety, it will be a while yet before I make the decision. I still have to figure out my Rx Machina, just got things going on and need to really try to get it cleaned up, I hope that's all it needs. Between ECF and YouTube I'll get it worked out.

Most important thing to know about a hybrid is to use a juice attachment with an extended center pin. Failing to do so can cause a hard short and either vent or explode the battery.

Ummm, I'm pretty sure your Rx Machina is a hybrid mod. Does the 510 connector have a center pin or not?

wismec_rx_machina_mech_kit_6.jpg
It has a spring loaded 510 pin with an insulater around it, then there's a switch spring around that with an insulater over it. The negative end of the battery touches the spring insulater and when I press the button brings the negative end of the battery to touch the 510 pin. The positive battery terminal is in a vented cup which is the button that's getting hot.

This photo might give you a better idea
