I don't see why this cold turkey method is so popular and got people brainwashed as the only way to quit. I was on and off analogs for a whole year before I stuck to vaping. There's no shame in it and it's just nicotine after all.

Anyway, asides from that, I think you've just had bad luck on low quality products. Plan ahead, buy 5 of everything next time. If you really want control, get someone to assemble a box mod for you. They're cheap and not difficult to make. Batts can be bought everywhere.

Sorry about your predicament.

One thing new users of the big batteries often do is screw things in too far (cartos, attys, charge). If you screw things in further than just far enough to electrically connect, that can depress the center post of the battery and cause it to no longer connect well electrically to other items.

You also need to wipe off the threads every time before putting it on a charger because otherwise little bits of juice residue build up to create a coating that prevents a good connection in the charger. And obviously actual liquid in the charger or the battery (and especially inside an auto battery) will cause a short.

Some people have damaged big batteries by using 1.5 ohms on them and apparently cold weather can exacerbate the temperature discrepancies between parts that heat up quickly and those that don't and cause things to break.

Also - it could be the charger cable. You need backups of everything including charger cables. But fit try cleaning the charger cable with a tissue, especially down in any valleys around threads. And ditto for the batteries.

As backups for my big and small batteries I have a couple of box mods and some 14500 protected and AW IMR batteries and charger.

Re attys - I have no fondness for atomizers. Get some juice that works well in cartomizers and learn to use them. And don't get exotic. Just get plain old Boge cartos which are the most popular cartos for 510 devices. Fill them to capacity, clean up, let settle on different sides for 15-20 minutes (more if you have more than 20% VG), vape.

cleaning your charger and battery threads with a tissue
unplugging your charger from power and plugging it back in

and perhaps someone can direct you in trying to carefully lift a battery post a bit (not I - I was not good at it)

Just a thought. Do you clean your batteries and charger connections? Take a q-tip and moisten it with rubbing alcohol and clean the threads and the recessed well of the battery, then go over with the dry end of the q-tip. I clean the charger connection the same way. If I don't clean them at least every other day I notice a big difference in performance and charging times.

grab a pin or a straighten out paper clip (or iphone sim card pin) basically anything thin and solid.

insert it into one side of the center post, then lift it up by just using a tiny bit of force (the action is like opening a tin of biscuit using a key or the likes - prying) then proceed with the other side. just work on the left and right of it. and only abt 2 times per side should be enough to lift the center post. too much and u might pop the whole center post out. too lil = well, still no connection lol.

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck with your batteries. Hang in there and get a decent kit. I own 4 Prodigys and never had any problems with them. Puresmoker's customer service is outstanding. The person who wrote the negative probably didn't hear back after 24 hours and got mad which is understandable but it's the holiday season so it might have taken a little longer for them to have replied.

I will answer your questions as to my own experience (read my signature...I have experience with a lot of mods).

Is it really worth the expense? Yes it is. Mods are a different animal and you don't have the worries that you will with proprietary batteries.

Some variable voltage mods have a cutoff for ohms so some low resistance attys/cartomizers won't work. However, you don't need low resistance with a variable voltage. Standard resistance is best to use. An eGo with low resistance is nothing compared to variable voltage.

Vaping at 4-5V is a beast. Until you've tried it, I can't explain it. Better flavor, vapor production, and throathit.

I've never heard of a Mega Joye 900. If it's a 900mah battery, there isn't any difference between it and the eGo 900mah battery.

I recommend to you to get yourself a good PV like the Prodigy or even an inexpensive 5V box mod, some Boge 3.0ohm cartomizers, 2 sets of batteries, and a charger. At least you won't get caught out in the rain again.

First thing that comes to my mind is to repeat what Humpty said. If you smoke a few analogs, who cares?

If you pin all your hopes on ABSOLUTELY NOT SMOKING ANOTHER ANALOG, then if you do smoke, you could fall in to that whole, well, I'm a smoker again, so...

It took me 5 or 6 weeks of vaping and smoking analogs to completely taper off. I never kicked myself when I smoked. I just kept going until the truely godsawful taste of analogs was worse than the cravings.

Shoot for progress, not perfection

vv mods are great if you can afford one. Truely a different vaping experience. A few adjustments when you change atties/cartos/juice/etc. and you have the best vape for that combination. Madvapes has a vv boxmod for about $35 Variable Voltage Box Mod . I've heard good things about them, but don't know how absolutely reliable they are. add in about $10 per set of batts, and about $7+ for a charger with that mod. Also, the roughstack, also from madvapes, RoughStack V2 starts at $40, 5 bones per batt, and 7+ for a charger again. Once again, a mod I don't own, but I've heard that one is very reliable and built like a tank. Only a 3.7v mod, but might be something relatively inexpensive that would always be there for ya. And madvapes has always shipped promptly for me and had great service.

BTW - there are chargers that will damage normal 510 and Ego batteries so make sure you are not using any of these chargers

These are reverse electrical polarity and will fry a real 510 or Ego-class battery with their charger

This one's charger will damage 510's and Egos
Automatic 510-T

Same threading does not mean can use the same charger

Hopefully some of the suggestions will help you get one of your batteries charged. Else you could call nearby 7-11's to ask of they have ecigs (some sell Njoy 2-n-1 aka Npro which is an RN4081). My local Rite-Aid has what looked like an RN4081 at the checkout counter. And you can check other drug stores, tobaccos store, gas stations.

And check VaporsearchUSA.com and see if there are any shops near you

Re mods - some mods also have things that break. Some have regulating/vv/booster/protection circuits in them that can fail. The simplest mods are totally mechanical.

My new battery didn't arrive. Didn't totally panic. I did find the older one, 650mh. The one with the lights that were going on and off blinking non stop. Put it on charger and thankfully it did charge and it's working normally now. Mmm, BB's cappuccino. Vapor Station's Texas, next. Hope it doesn't blow up in my face, LOL, Just kidding. If I do have an issue, I will try to pull up center pin. So far so good.

After my luck, I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new PV. The cost will be worth it. I'm thinking Protege or Provari and probably a vv box eventually too. Get enough to always be covered and not be stuck like this again. This morning was awful! I'm really happy to read that smoking 4-5V is huge difference. I do look forward to that.

Backups are a necessity and I even have backups for backups. For every ecig I depend on I have 2 charging cables at home and one at work, 3 compatible batteries minimum, extra attys and/or cartos. And I have all of that for 2 slim models and big battery 510 models. Plus the little $20 box mods.

Maybe go for a mod, only have to charge batteries one a day. I have GLV2 Super mini that works great! Also use cartos, attys and carts are a pita in my opinion LOL I have gone thru several types myself, so maybe it's time for an upgrade so you don't loose hope! bnrk

I can't say I recommend this. Because I don't. But I've done it in a pinch....

I took the mildest flavor of ejuice I had. I put a drop of it on the tip of my tounge(mirror helps). I rubbed it into my gums, waited a minute and spit out the rest.

It took a minute or two to fully kick in, but it got the job done.

oh btw if u r planning on provari, get the one with extension cap. if not, u'll find that ur batt typically last less than a day of heavy vaping. that is if u bring it to work, u'll charge it at night. the 18650 batts last me a good day++ (but i always bring spares out and rotate between the 3 batteries.)

and if u do get provari, u can skip lavatube. lol~ unless u want a backup. but provari will be a baby. i have mine clothed in carbon fibre sleeve. =x

I you want to never run out of batteries go for a mod and buy plenty of batteries.
