I'll start off by saying to the mods, if this is in the wrong spot, I apologize.

So I recently got some 100mg/ml Nic from Wizard labs. I've noticed it has kind of an off taste, is super peppery, and gives me a mad head rush off of one puff even when diluted down all the way to 2mg. I don't take super huge draws (Still getting used to the different throat feel from cigarettes).

Anyone else experience this? Any recommendations on a nic supplier?

Also, is it possible for me to dilute it from 100mg/ml to say 60mg/ml or is that pointless? That's one thing that's been confusing me with diy is the PG/VG with nic goes from somewhere around 24mg/ml all the way to 100mg/ml? What is the major differences when making your own juice at home with using 100mgml vs the lower concentrated nic solutions (other than having to use less per mix)?

Thanks,

BoD

I got my first 120mL starter quantity of 24mg Nic Base in VG from Wizard Labs. I wanted to find out if I'd even like DIY before ordering a larger quantity or a higher mg of Nic base. My finished juice was 40PG/60VG at 6mg nic.

I found it to be very smooth and not peppery or harsh at all. I also used the same stuff to make some for vaping friends who also had nothing but great comments about it. One of them even had me make his liquid with a final Nic content of 18mg.

I used all of that 120mL Wizard Labs bottle just last Thursay, and decided to open the 1L of 100mg/mL Nic base I'd bought from another website. Made some of the same liquids tonight for myself and a neighbor, that I'd made before with the WL Nic Base. They were wonderful (tasty, smooth, not peppery or harsh at all). I followed the exact same recipes tonight, and I'm not thrilled at all about the difference in the liquids made with the new Nic! Talk about peppery and harsh - Geez! I even tried using Smooth to try to cut the harshness, but that did nothing. Then it dawned on me...it HAD to be the new Nic. It was the only thing that was different.

So, I have no idea why your Nic from WL seems harsh & peppery to you, especially even cut down to 2mg. I really wish I'd ordered my 1L of 100mg from them, instead of the place I did get it from!

As far as another supplier...there are several that many members on here recommend. One of them is Nude Nicotine. Another one mentioned a lot is EcigExpress. One of the other ones...is unfortunately the place I got my 1L of 100mg/mL from, so I won't recommend them to you. Someone else probably will though. Can't help that if they do.

As for your other question - I can't see any reason for you to dilute your 100mg/mL Nic Base down to 60mg/mL, since no one should be vaping 60mg/mL either! It should also be made much lower in Nic content in their finished liquid ready to vape.

Many people do buy the 100mg/mL Nic Base though. They then use one of the calculators to input everything they're starting with...to make sure they end up with their desired ratio of PG, VG, and the Nic mg they want in their final eliquid they're making. Whatever mg Nic Base you start with, by using the calculator, you can end up with any same or lower Nic mg you choose your liquid to be. One main reason people buy the 100mg/mL Nic Base is because you get more "bang for your buck" so to speak, since you can make so much more lower mg Nic from it, for your finished DIY liquids. You still have to buy more PG and VG then, but they cost less than the Nic does by far!

Thanks for the reply, Im gonna try a few more mixes. Maybe I messed up on the mix or just got a few bad hits. I meant to mention that I have been using scubabatdan's Ejuice calculator 13. My buddy showed me how to use it, mix, etc. This was only my 3rd time mixing so maybe there was some err on my part.

May have not mixed the nic adequately before using. Personally I find the WL not peppery, yet unpleasant. I prefer peppery, actually. Haven't completely decided.

I like the idea of having some 100 mg for adding nic to an existing mix with minimal change, but that would mostly be if I made some for someone who likes high nic. I think I can feel it breathing around the open bottle and prefer working from 33-36 mg.

When I use to use nic, the WL 100 mg was found to be non peppery too. Perhaps some folks are more sensitive when it comes to tasting nic than others.

I believe so. Your nic goes in the amount your target nic content dictates regardless of the percent PG/VG content reported. Some folks may use a cut down versions (other than 100 mg.) of nic for handling/safety considerations.

If your mixing small amounts and a couple rogue drops

I never though about that. That does make a lot of sense. In a 30 ml bottle those couple extra drops can push my 3mg to a 5 or even maybe a six (rouge drops and natural inacuracies of my syringe measurements).

May have not mixed the nic adequately

Do nic solutions tend to "settle"? When drawing with my syringe I was going right off of the top of the bottle.

A professional place like WL automatically uses a very expensive machine to mix VG nic. It won't separate anytime soon. Maybe from your local B&M it would. If in doubt, give them a call, they're great to talk to.

Nic usually won't separate in the solution, though I do give the bottle a good shake when I use it just out of habit. I use nic from MFS, one of the ones most people don't like so much. Me, never felt it was harsh or bad, so I just keep using it. Maybe you just got a very harsh batch? Wizard is one of the brands many tout as being a Premium brand.

Inacuracies is the main reason I switched to scaling my mixes rather than using syringes. The almost zero cleanup is just a perk.

I use to pop the plunger out of the syringe then pour the liquid into the top to the desired level. Shaking every ingredient before using is important since some do settle into layers depending on how often you use them. Shaking concentrates, especially nic just becomes a habit after a while.
