After an almost 3 year hiatus of vaping I'm back and looking to get back into the DIY world. The problem is that I'm so particular about my juice flavors that I can hardly find a good match in premium juice. I like tobaccos because fruits and desserts just don't do it for me.

after sampling dozens of flavors, the only juice I can tolerate is TriBeCa from Halo.
the rest of the tobaccos have a strange chemical taste that I cannot stand. My question is simple, what do you suppose is the common element in all of the juices I hate and is lacking in the halo tribeca?
i have the feeling that the nutty satisfying element in tribeca is acatyl pyrazine.

Do you think that acetyl pyrazine added to other tobaccos would round them out and make me like them or is it simply that the tribeca uses a base tobacco that does not have this chemical flavor that I feel like I am the only person out there to experience.

Thank you, Buster

Hmm...not sure, but I can tell you that AP can murder a liquid if not mixed with a deft hand! So it may be what you love and it simultaneously may be what you despise (considering many "tobacco" liquids use it). I don't have a Tribeca recipe, but you may want to try DIYing with Hangsen RY4 concentrate and start there (I find the two close enough),

Never used AP but it's just a guess based on my reading.

From what I remember, the perique black was the worst for it. But each tobacco has its own unique terrible chemical flavor.

I find that the common element in a good tobacco mix is the flavoring manufacture. I find Hangsen tobacco flavors the best. For tribeca or prime I recommend using as a base tobacco No.5, Highway or T5. I found T5 best for halo clones but it has been discontinued. I did recently find it at ecigexpress but it's likly old stock as it's been discontinued about a year now. I do have some that is 18 months old and I still use it for my prime clone and it's still good. I recommend either of these tobaccos starting at 5% and add AP to it at 1%.

For tribeca follow directions for prime and also add hangsen caramel starting at 1% as well as hangsen chocolate cream at 1% and adjust to taste. The chocolate cream can also be used in the prime recipe as it adds a really nice top note to the tobacco base note.

Steep these both for 3 weeks or in 150F hot water for 3 hours.
