Won A New Mod! Battery Help.

So I finally received The Knotty Box yesterday! I normally would have posted right away but I have put off on ordering the batts until payday.

What I can say now is that it's very obviously a prototype and not something they would sell to a customer, but with a little refining this mod would be excellent for a single 14500 set up. It has a green LED, magnets in opposing corners and one of those nifty catch cups I gushed over. The switch is a Radio Shack special, exactly the same as my own home made mod and I actually prefer this button

Catch Cup

To me this looks like a fairly standard washer that has been drilled out and maybe JB welded onto the threads and then press fit.

Internals

It's housed for 1 14500 and the design is very clean. The only real "issue" I had (if you could call it that) was the LED had to be pushed back in to the housing.

External

Yes there is a gap on the back lid that is noticeable, but it won't effect the performance.


Overall, this is a decent mod that would never have been sold retail. For a prototype it is very good and the catch cup really works well. So well in fact that I can drip directly into the well and it will feed the atomizer with no issues. Not that I have actually vaped on it, but I wanted to at least check the cup and see

haha yeah my "prototypes" are painstakingly planned out before I start my work, but I have never made a wooden box mod either, so I would probably end up having to prototype it. I like it, but I think my friend who I'm getting into vaping will enjoy it much more than I will I'll likely order the batts, do a review and ship it off to him along with my last eGo battery and some juice in roughly a week.

Well before I say anything "me-ish" i wanna say congrats on the win, i get bummed of seeing no canadians on some of these contests so maybe time for a canadian only contest. But how cool to win a mod, although with the way canada post sucks I feel like i won each one I buy by the time it actually arrives lol.

Now onto this naughty box, yikes man, please use protected batteries as I am doubting they inlaid a protection circut board behind that battery clip lol.

And sure at first glance it looks like that gap was bad workmanship, but it goes to show you guys don't know quality, that is a vent hole, for your safety

All teasing aside I have never won a mod so i am still jealous (use protected batteries please)

There is absolutely no reason to release that kind of workmanship considering this was YouTube - iken2punk's Channel my first, and you owe a review?

Hahaha, man that's funny. I think it's a miracle when my devices arrive too and hey, it was after-all a freeby. I will never use unprotected batts in it, lol, and I am going to be sure to tell my friend that I'm giving it to not to use unprotected's as well.

Yeah Switched, I was speechless myself but I know my smoker friend will appreciate it. I don't really owe a review according to the note I got with it but I am thinking it is better to make one for my friend so he knows about the dangers of unprotected batts. Still not sure though.
