Thats weird. i've never had that happen. and i've been doing 1.5 ohm/dcc/6ml smoktech tanks for 6 months. heck i'm still using the same tanks.

I use dual coil smoktechs in a tank. But I won't buy them again. It's like there's a hole in the tank sometimes and the battery is sucked dry. Most others are boge 2.0 with an occasional 3.

Hey it's all good. All of us have our favorite ways of doing things, our favorite cartos, atties, tanks, mods, etc. I'm happy with my dcc cartos on my V2, and on my kicked Silver Bullets. I get a nice warm vape, yeah it uses more juice, I don't care, I make it anyway. Yeah I have to change a 18650 faster, but that's ok my charger will do 6 at a time. I have my sweet spot for my juices dialed in and I'm a creature comfort person ;)

I think the most important thing for any vaper to do is find his/her comfort zone. Once in there you aren't at as much risk of going back to stinkies. One size does not necessarily fit all. Experiment all you want, just don't buy heavily into anything until you decide it's for you, is the best advice I can give.

My question is this:

Just ordered a Provari V2 (18650 batteries) - What carts should I be using to get a similar or better experience - so much contradictory info on the web. Can I still use my dual coil 1.5 ohm carts or do I need to use a higher resistance cart? Single vs Dual Coil?

Yes, you can still use 1.5 ohm DCCs. Provari recommends using only SR hardware, but that's because they want you to experience the full range of voltages to dial in your sweet spot. LR cartos will limit you to the lower spectrum of its capabilities - probably not higher than 4v - but it will still work just as well as running a 2.8 ohm carto at 5v.

Personally, I want to find some good SR cartos for mine so I can dial it up high and have more voltage options to change between than I do now with my 1.7 Resurrectors. I paid for the quality of the build and precision of the output, but I'd also like to utilize the extra 1.2 volts I didn't get with my eGo-C Twist.

What brand of cartos do you use, Baditude? I'm loving the performance from my 1.7 Resurrectors, but I'm looking for higher resistance Smoktech cartos for my Provari and I'm having trouble finding some that are standard 35mm and stainless, so my options are getting limited. I wouldn't mind trying another brand with a similarly loose filler material if you know of one.

I'm looking into Cloud Maker cartos at the moment. If anyone has tried thed, I'd really like to know what you think. I'm open to any other suggestions as well - anything but godawful Boges.

What brand of cartos do you use, Baditude?

I started using the Ikenvape brand a couple of months ago. These are the Platinum Punched (a 2.5 ohm). They are superior to anything that I have used thus far. They provide the best flavor production, are longer lasting (2-3 tankfulls longer), and relatively fast filling. Never had a dud yet until I tried my first Fusion. https://www.ikenvape.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1860

I use the fill from the top method of filling cartos, with a wooden toothpick in the center airhole to keep liquids out. However, I'm starting to inject my liquid with a fine needle into the top of the carto, between the polyfill and carto edge. This seems to work a little faster than dripping onto the poly while spinning it, and seems to work better for the more tightly packed cartomizers.

I recently got a batch of of their "premiere" 801-thread Fusions just to try them out. The 801's require an adaptor to use them. The first one was terrible, so harsh that it was unvapable; resistance checked ok, but probably a dud. I've been vaping on the second one for a couple of days now and it is quite similar to the Platinums. No idea what the difference between the Plats and Fusions are, but Ikenvape just introduced a 510-thread Fusion. The problem with Ikenvape is they seem to be frequently out-of-stock.

For my backup cartos, I use the Smoktek single coil, 3.0 ohm with either one or two holes. I started using these way back after being unsatisfied with the dual coil tank replacements. A nice carto, occassional duds. These are currently out-of-stock, too. Luckily I have a couple of months' worth of cartos in my stash of supplies. Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL

Not been a fan of the Boge's, but I have to admit that when I tried some was during the Bogegate era. Slow filling, slow wicking, occassional burnt taste or harsh vapor. Occasional duds. The ones that I used were unpunched, and I am not a fan of punching my own.

Additional comment:

When I got my first mod several months ago, a Silver Bullet, I got some of these huge dual coils with it.

These hold between 4-5ml of juice. At the time I thought they were pretty nice, although they did like frequent top-offs for best results. I recall they had nice flavor production and made plumes of vapor. I stopped buying them once I got into cartotanks. I recently found an unused one in my stash of supplies and am looking forward to trying it on the Provari once my shipment of cinnamon flavored e-juice arrives. I'm thinking this might be a great flavor to try with these dual coils.

I noticed a difference in battery life between the 3ohm single and 2.5ohm dual coils but not a difference in juice use. I got my 3ohm singles from Provape when I ordered my ProV, but at $2.99ea they were kind of expensive when I can get the 2.5ohm duals for $1.66ea if I buy 20 at a time. If I could find singles as cheap as the duals I would use them, but for the price I will keep using the 2.5duals.
