So, I managed to snag a Woodvil from the classies for my Uncle Dave, who has been smoking for over 30 years, and wanted to switch to vaping. He refused to use anything but a Reo Woodvil after trying my Grand and Seeing pics of how nice the Woodvils look. So I bought one for him, and it just arrived today. It is absolutely beautiful and I love how clicky the button is, I need to get my hands on one now :D

Anywho, I am trying to get it set up for him, tossed in a brand new 18650 AW IMR and it rattles around a bit. I also noticed that the door rattles a tad as well. The battery doesn't need any spacers as it is a snug fit, but just using it regularly the battery sometimes falls out.

Just wondering if you guys know of any way to snug up the door to reduce the rattling sounds.

P.S. this thing is absolutely beautiful and hits like a champion

If you have a battery rattling around in there...that mod may have been shorted and the spring partially collapsed. 18650 batteries should never rattle around in these mods, much less fall out. I think you should contact Rob directly for assistance.

*edit...for the short term, you could try dental bands around the battery to help put a little pressure against the door.

FunkyVapes,

With climate changes going from cold to hot the wood can expand and contract just a little bit , just enough to make the door get a bit loser or tighter,,, it may be possible for you to take a nice wood clamp, and clamp it so it pulls together a bit, and leave the clamp on it like this for a few days,,,, that's about the only thing I can think of,,,, you also may be able to score another door from Rob if he has one, ya may want to use the Reosmods website and send him a pm,,,, could be worth the shot ya never know,,, just a thought

I have never heard of a 18650 rattle in a woodvil unless the spring has collapsed a little either due ware or a short. Sometimes a metal REO which is easily fixed tape around the battery.

Awww, yeah. thanks for the response as usual, my friends. Unfortunately, this is my Uncle's only means of vaping right now so I'll have to hold off to see if he's going to stick with it. If he is, I'll let him use my VV Woodvil that I'm going to be buying soon ( :D ) while we send this one back. The battery certainly doesn't fall out, like it did on my Grand that Rob fixed, just slightly rattles.

The sexy little Woodvil came from Texas and is now in Zesty'ole Niagara Falls, so I'm sure the adjustment is pretty profound. I'll let Rob know when we're ready to send her in. Really appreciate all the assistance.

Hot-Damn!

So, I am so impressed with my Uncle's Woodvil that I just have to get my own...

oops, I already did. I traded a brand new SS GG Stealth for one (don't tell that lads at the GG forum), and she is a beauty. I should have it in my greasy paws by this Sunday! Such a beautiful mod and vapes like a cannon!
