The intention of this thread is to gather the views and opinions of other Reo users on the new Woodvil feeding option. As many of you know the new Woodvils can be ordered with a hole over the juice bottle for finger "squonking" like the current Minis/Grands or they can be fitted with an actual mechanical plunger like the older wooden Reos. Please see the Reo website if this description is insufficient.

  • If you own a Woodvil, what option did you choose and what are your experiences?

  • If you don't own a Woodvil, what option appeals to you most and why?

Thanks. :vapor:

I got a squonk hole 510, mostly because I'm used to it from my Grand and Mini, and change is bad, mmk? I do love the look of the plunger, as frankly said it's very steampunk - I could see it getting caught on stuff or getting pressed inadvertently in my pocket or bag, though most people probably won't travel with it (a task better suited to the aluminum mods).

Also, there were only 3 with plungers, 1 was an 801 and 2 had purpleheart - I'm not a fan lol

I got mine with the hole in the door. I feel its easier for me, and more pocket friendly

I do have several Original Wood REO's with the plunger. I like them as well but find I vape left handed and it is in the way some times. I have used the push the door up method but over all a hole in the door is for me.

Rob accepted a custom order from me. He's making me a Woodvil with a 'plank door.' No squonk hole, no plunger. When I need to squonk, I'll just have to push the door up with my thumb, squonk, and let the door slide back down again. It should look really sleek :)

Hi MX, do you vape using your thumb or index finger to push the button? I'm a left handed vaper too, well my right hand is busy with coffee, mouse, pen, remote control etc

I have a Grand with the squonk hole, and my hubs just got a woodvil with the plunger. I think I like operating the plunger more,it feels more controls. It also looks really nice
The only downside to the plunger is it tends to fall inward(towards the battery compartment)when you are opening the door, and you have to push it back to the rest position to get the door off

I have an original 801 wood reo w/ the plunger and a new 510 woodvil with the squonk hole. I can't say which I like better- I like them both. When I got the new woodvil, I didn't even notice it in all the excitement- was going to get one w/ the plunger- guess I'm just used to it on the other wood reo, but after I got it, I'm in love with the squonk hole and w/ the way the corners are rounded on this mod, it just feels so natural...plus it gives my wife something to talk about..."better cover that squonk hole... I can't believe that your squonk hole is showing," etc.

I think squonk holes and plungers are against the ToS.

I use my index finger, and the door is facing my palm Vaping left handed lets me use the PC mouse when working so I can multi Task LOL :) And my desk is set up so all my Vaping gear is on the left side and my work space is on the right,
