I didn't even know Cocobolo had a smell. I know he uses Tung oil on the outside, and mineral on the inside of the woods that he sells with a natural finish (not poly.) I think the Tung oil has a really distinct odor to it; the mineral oil has none. I have a Cocobolo that's brand new (never had juice in it) and I can't smell anything.

timk on the beautiful family addition. That is gorgeous. What a beautiful wood. :)

How many 'Congrats!' gifs do you have, Rat2? Lol.

Every time I see one of them, it makes my day!

I cant imagine why your getting any order from a cocobolo mod Is this a used mod ?

No. Purchased on the last sale day. Maybe it's the natural oil finish? My jatoboa/koa doesn't have the same problem though and it says it has the same finish. (Though I don't believe it due to the shine.)

Oooooohhh! That pdib is swwweeeeeet!
Congrats on the Cocobolo, always a great choice.
Great collection!:p

Ya, that one is my favorite mod and I'm very happy to get the woodvil so I can leave the pdib mod at home. The redwood is very delicate, poor choice on my part but wow what a beautiful wood:

Big tease! Just had to do it didn't you! Big close up of that beauty!! Not a "poor choice" at all! Just not meant to be a roadwarrior. You are brave as I would be too paranoid to take it out of the house! I will say that my woodvils go out with me as they are pretty tough and will take some abuse as "daily drivers". That pdib would be my "trailor queen', guess it depends on type of wood.

Yup, this one is definitely trailer queen now. I put a couple scuffs on it from taking it with me, no more though. I'm on the list for a second, but that could be several months out. The next one will be the richlite caps and claro walnut so it should be much tougher/resilient. And by poor choice I mean its hard to have something that you like so much but can't use it all the time hahaha

Cocobolo is a tough wood and you should get great mileage out of her.
I got on the pdib list as well. Looking at 15 months out! :(
Looking forward to Rob's mechanical woodvil run to hold me over! I'm sure Rob will be putting out another excellent mod !
