I'm sure the media is used to it. I really wouldn't bother with BCC (I didn't).

Twitter works around hashtags (#).

I had to send a copy to TRMS (Maddow) :2cool:

Let's plan for next year; e-mail, Twitter, and Facebook. And local event guidelines. Maybe we could reach out to other national efforts throughout the world.

Could you post a sample we could use for tweeting?

The CASAA meeting is tonight and I'm going to bring up the subject of trying to keep this date for every year. It would then be easier to ramp up events.

Can we imitate what you did? Please? :) Except of course put our own figures in there!

Wallelf's got it.

A Tweet (max 140 characters) can go to an individual or organization (@) and is tracked throughout the "Twittersphere" with a hash tag (#). If a particular hash tag is used often enough, it becomes a "trend", and its popularity increases. The hash tag name is really important though:
#NVP - short for National Vaping Day is too generic, and might be in use already. #NationalVapingDay (not sure about exclamation mark) is pretty unique, but "vaping" is not exactly a popular word. No matter.

So when a hash tag "trends", it becomes much easier for Big Media to spot, and if they deem it newsworthy, they'll report on it. You'd be spectacularly surprised at how often Big Media does this.

Local news does this also. I was at a conference last year on using social media as a promotional tool, and it was pointed out that we could get the local TV channels attention through it, and to demonstrate it, a bunch of us send some key tweets with a common hashtag; a TV crew showed up one hour later. :2cool: It only took ~10 tweets.

If anyone has seen HBO's "The Newsroom", you've already seen their "alert board". Yeah, that's real.

Plus I sent a letter to NPR's appropriately named, 'Fresh Air' radio segment. All NPR shows and contacts can be found here (they dont make it easy).

Here is my story!

Hi, I'm Blake, and I'm a cigarette addict. But I quit!

My story is the same as many vapors (which is kinda strange to hear). I've been smoking for more years then not! That was the fact that first made me what to quit smoking. Years pass and I'm a DIY RYO guy, I would buy rizzla+ flax rolling papers by the case from England, and buy cans of American Spirit rolling tobacco from the cigarette store, and every morning I'd roll myself 20 cigs in five minutes at the start of the day. This went on for years too. My fingers were stained like I kept them up my ..., and I was coughing up grayish brown phlegm all the time. But I didnt have the smokers cough that I used to have when I smoked analogs. Then SCIP tax hit my RYO tobacco hard. Almost doubled the price. So like a good addict, I tried to quit ...again. I tried snus and that worked better then the gums and crap. But I went back to cigs. And like a real addict, I found 100% natural (naturally toxic!) pipe tobacco! Yea! I rolled and rolled and smoked and peroxided my fingers clean (didn't work) and I coughed and would get strep-throat every year like Christmas, but I couldn't quit. I loved smoking just as much as I hated it! Then I saw two ppl die. My mom, and a family friend. My mom got AML leukemia, and she smoked or begged to smoke everyday till she passed. It definitely accelerated her passing. We had 3 liquid oxygen tanks in the garage just so she could live! Thats how bad her lungs where shot! And it was the reason why she wouldn't survive a life saving bone marrow transplant. It was like a bad dream.

Soon after mom died, our family friend died young from COPD. I knew I HAD TO QUIT.
Before my mom died, I bought some E-cigs from China on DealExtreme. Those opened my mind to the liberty of DIY smoking cessation via vaping. My mom liked it too, but they didnt last long, and weren't practical for our heavy addictions.

Long story shorter:
I eventually bought a Joye 510 kit, then eGo-T kits ...and then I quit!!! It took me six month of dual use (analogs cigarettes and e-cigs) before I just said, "today is the day I ONLY vape". It was one of the easiest positive life changes I have ever made! I owe it all to the e-cig. Will-power had little to do with it, really, because I weened off analogs you see. I am sooo much healthier now that I don't smoke stinkies. Taste, smell, lung capacity, O2 saturation, its all so much better! I'm never going back to tobacco! But, like many vapors, I'm afraid that I would start smoking again if the electronic cigarette, and it's components where banned by the government.
Thanks for reading my story.

And then I left all my contact info.
I'm soooo glad I could tell my story! E-cigs and ECF, saved my life!!!! :D

What a coincidence - today is World Vaping Day, and my order of juices arrived today from Preferred Vapor. I bought a couple of sample-sized bottles to try out the quality - I've never tried any Preferred Vapor juice prior to now.

I am currently vaping PV's Killa Vanilla VG/PG, 18mg - first impression is very good. Very nice strong vanilla smell out of the bottle and on inhale. Flavor fades quickly before the exhale, but that is expected. Good vapor production. No complaints here.

I also have a bottle of Killa Vanilla 100% VG, 18mg - I haven't tried this one yet and will try it later tonight.

They also sent me freebie sample bottle of "Midnight Cowboy, 12mg" - I have no idea what it is, but it's dark and smells good.

:)
