Do you think they will at all.....ever? I know it is a long shot if any of them do tonight. But we can hope :) :p

Well, thinking optimistically, maybe all the emails today will lead them to do a story next week: "Last Thursday was National vape Day. We received so many emails from vapers that we decided to tell their story tonight...." Yeah...that's the ticket!

For those who have finished here, and tweeting the Dailys too, take a look at this thread, watch the video, read the delicious story, and comment a huge kudos to the author and paper. Raising viewer ratings on positive articles is a huge positive. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/media-general-news/470563-heres-good-one.html#post10746897

And another well written article to give kudos to. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/media-general-news/470331-case-e-cigarettes.html#post10741591

Because whoever created the event World vaping Day lives in the UK. Today is their Friday. :)

I'm sorry to get off topic here, but I just had to respond to your comment about the UK...
I have a couple of friends in England and there is only 8 hrs. time difference between there and myself here on the West Coast... which would make it only 5 hrs. ahead from where you are.

So by no stretch of the imagination is today "their Friday"...

I had to come up with something quickly. ;). Sorry for the mis-information spread.

Ok maybe I sounded too optimistic but in reality what I really wanted was to gauge where we are at. I didn't expect miracles especially with such short notice (btw great job robino and tvan) but this is very important to me. It may not be to others and that's fine. There will be a next time. Even if nothing happens I don't give up so easily. Reach for nothing and you will hit it every time~ Paul's philosophy.

I really wanted to see something! Anything! You're not alone in feeling that. *sigh*.

There's still hope. :)

I'm just getting back online and my preferred vendor posted this article written by Carol McAlice Currie and published by the Statesman Journal. Assuming we are still working hard at getting the message out today here is a link to the artical and her email address along with my writeup for National Vapeing Day...Vape on!!! :vapor:

Here is what I sent her..

Dear Ms Currie,

I smoked 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes per day for over 37 years and have never been able to quit for any length of time beyond a couple of days. I experimented with inexpensive e-cigarettes back in December of last year as an alternative to smoking cigarettes. After trying several different brands and types I found a personal vaporizer (e-cig) that enabled me to quit smoking tobacco all together and on March 6, 2013 I smoked my very last cigarette and have remained tobacco free ever since.

There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 4,000 chemicals. At least 50 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous. The electronic cigarette, on the other hand, has 4 ingredients: propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin, food grade flavoring (optional) and nicotine (optional)...all FDA approved ingredients, and none of which have been proven to cause cancer.

Long term studies have been made into Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, artificial flavorings, and nicotine. All have been FDA approved for human consumption with Propylene Glycol being one of the main ingredients in asthma inhalers and theatrical fogging machines where the vapor is inhaled by the general public regularly. I appreciate your links, but from personal experience and 37 years of smoking tobacco with 20 of them trying to quit, I already know that nothing else worked for me. Since, I was expecting to spend the rest of my life smoking cigarette, I would rather take the minimal risk of vaping to remain tobacco free then to risk everything on products that just don't work.

I want to get the word out to every news organization and ask that you not be mislead by the advocates of big tobacco and big pharmacy who claim that e-cigarettes are bad for you:

CIGARETTES ARE MUCH MORE HARMFUL!

I tried patches, gum, drugs, and cold turkey and nothing has ever worked to help me become tobacco free. Listen to the “man on the street” and you will find there are more of us that have quit smoking tobacco by using e-cigarettes than you think; we number in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. And that number grows every day.

It has been 197 days since I last had a cigarette. That comes to 4925 cigarettes that I have NOT smoked and over $1545 that I have NOT spent on tobacco cigarettes. None of this was ever possible without e-cigarettes. I continue to use e-cigarettes (vape) and enjoy it very much. At the age of 47, I have not lost my sweet tooth and I readily use the flavored e-liquids for which, I feel, as an adult is my right to choose.

Publicly the drive for the last 10 years has been to get smokers to quit using tobacco, and now that we finally have a device that really works, there has been nothing but criticism and misinformation reported by the news outlets, health officials, and anti-tobacco groups. I find it strange that these same groups would rather I continue to use tobacco instead of using a now proven and successful harm reduction device like e-cigarettes. Nobody is hiding alcohol consumption from alcoholics or food from the people with eating disorders therefore there shouldn’t be pressure from anyone to hide or ban something from tobacco users, especially if it helps people quit using tobacco. Please stop attacking the only harm reduction product that keeps me tobacco free.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email.

I commented on the comments section. It seems like two steps forward, one step back.

I couldn't find much when I checked for Vaping Day news stories, but I did find these:

E-Cigarette Stories Are Increasingly Popular | The New York Observer
(In fact, with no studies showing e-cigarette age ranges, we’ll put our money on the products being mostly consumed by older adults who are trying to quit smoking, as the products aren’t very “cool.”) :)

E-cigarette Sales Surpass $1 Billion As Big Tobacco Moves In - Forbes
With revenue from e-cigarettes expected to double this year to over $1 billion and up to $1.7 billion by some estimates...

House Dems call for cigar, e-cigarette regulations over 'kid-friendly' products - The Hill's RegWatch
A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that 1.78 million middle- and high-school students have used e-cigarettes, which vaporize nicotine without producing smoke.

How many teens tried tobacco cigarettes during the same time period? :(
