Excellent review Snow, very informative. Your method of filling is almost identical to mine except that I use a syringe. I know you stated it earlier but I want to reiterate for others... you can use the 1.5 ohm cartos on a 5v device but you've got to be careful because it is very easy to burn juice and filler. For 5v, I'd recommend 2.0 ohm cartos (which I personally use @ 4.2v).

IMO at 3.7-4.2v, the 1.5 ohm is great for those who love WOW cartos and 2.0 ohm is for those who prefer CoolCarts. YMMV. As soon as V4L gets replacement tank cartos in stock, I plan on picking up a truckload.

Couldn't agree more Tennovan! A majority of juices are pushed to their limit at 5v and the new 5v OMG actually comes off the charger at 5.3v. The .3 can make all the difference between awesome and blech. I also use a syringe and probably for the same reasons you do, it prevents juice from flooding the air wick tube and eliminates the need for a dry hit.

However, not everybody has syringes.....so.....

I would also advise folks to be very careful when using an adapter, the adapter that came with 5v OMG causes juice to leak out of the battery connector. I believe the post on the adapter is just a wee-bit too high.

Thanks for the kind words, just doing my part to ensure our family members always get the best and most honest info available.

My pleasure...I was so excited I was up till 4am putting this together and really didn't get a chance to play with the tanks on other batteries. Morandir and I spoke this morning like 2 giddy school kids and he pointed out that these only work with the Diamonds, Stealths, and PTs. Thanks K9Luvr

Not sure why, but I'm able to use my 3.5 tank on my 1st XL manual -the one I bought 1.5 years ago. My new KD XL manual is charging, and I wanted to continue using my new tank, so I gave it a try and it works! Not as well as the KD, but it works! Yay!!! Any thoughts?

Well....got my first tank today and re-watched Snows vid so I wouldn't mess up. Followed it step by step and kept getting the 'dry carto burn' flavor yech!. I added more drops to the cart filler, dry sucked so the juice would fill from the bottom, etc. Had a small leak but no biggie. I got maybe two good hits before that dry carto taste came back so I'm going to try again later. :(

It's no secret I have an arsenal of KR batteries and tried the tanks on all of them. On some like the V2 stealths I got a whisp of vapor, on standard XL's I got either nothing or I got the tank to work but the connector was screwed so far in effected the draw like sucking on straw in a thick milkshake. I'm sure like me you have quite a few different V4L batts, try them out on all of them and I believe you will have the same odd mixed results. I even got it to kinda work on the some old bargain bin shorties, a little gurgly, and some whisps of vapor.

But when you put them on the new Diamonds, they work great....except for Rick07's. Given that these are new I think we are going to find a lot of quirky things about them.

Thanks to Snowdragon's video, I was able to fill my 3.5 tank with no issue at all. I used a syringe, and I'm sure that made things 100x easier.

    Glad to hear it GF....

I have tried sliding the carto down until the holes show and sticking a small unfolded paper clip in the holes easy and it helped. It was like there were air bubbles blocking the juice from going in.

    Keyzy,

Since the carto protrudes above the the top cap a 1/4 inch on the DVCTs, and the holes are located directly above the bottom cap, wouldn't it be impossible to fill the tank unless the holes are at least a 1/4 inch + more like a half inch below the base of the bottom cap when the carto is pushed out?

I am just trying to imagine this...How exactly does one stick an unfolded paper clip into the holes? Since "holes" is plural I guess you mean the feeder holes...right? And how does that exactly remove the air bubbles that are blocking the juice from going in? Not trying to be a bully or anything....I'm just a little lost following what you are saying.

Now, I advised Chim on another post to take a straightened out paper clip and run it though the air tube, the entire length of the carto to clear flooding out of the tube....is this what you are possibly referring to?

    :)

True to my word, I placed an order yesterday. While not quite a truckload, I did pick up 5 DC cartos and plan to buy more if these turn out to be as good as I'm hoping. I really didn't need anything else but the sale was so good I had to also grab a new tank (my fourth now) and manual Diamond. I wish I would have thrown a few bottles of juice in... I'm regretting it actually

Thank you, SnowDragon...may this year be especially generous to you (since it *is* your year), as generous to you and your family as you have been to us and as generous as they have been in sharing you :) <lighting firecrackers...but rather late for the *REAL* event>

Truly...thanks to you, I was able to REFILL my tank, with only *minor* damage to my clothing :) Yeah, you warned me to look out for leaks...and I *really* did try :) Fortunately, I have an excellent laundry detergent that has proven its worth against the "great cartomizer disaster of June in 2011 :) And it even made those clothes "baby soft" :)

I really did miss everyone...but I handed out a ton of cards and told them they would NEVER be alone when trying V4L :) That there was a REAL family here ready to take care of them and help them along the way :) And, of course, I mentioned your great visual aids, SnowDragon :) Just wish one of them would feature Peepi...the hamster from H*LL :) I watched that "Invader Zim" episode last night...love how he turned into my all-time favorite monster...GODZILLA!!! <goes stomping off...warning everyone to "run for your lives!>

I couldn't tell you what hooked me on Zim...my husband, who adores it, Girr, or Dib's sister (can't remember her name right now...Razz??) At first I thought it was too chaotic but the characters hooked me :) I always love your videos that start off with the theme song and work one of your plushies into the shots :) My spindle bag is a Girr bag...get lots of stares and comments...especially when I remove my spindles and yarn  Not at all what they were expecting ;)

WOW tried the tank tonight and it works great!!! It was easy to do and not having any probs!! :) I have a pretty blue one and I replaced the drip tip with a shiny blue swirl drip tip and it's so pretty :) I am shocked I didn't have a harder time setting this up!!! lol

It's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool, thank you!!!! (you know who you are lol!!)

I can even use it with an 808-510 adapter I already had with my 510 stuff. I know, I know, don't go over 5 volts! I saw some people saying it was leaking with the v4l adapter, and that that one has some problems. The adapter I have is a shorty adapter from a different company and there have been no leaks. I can't believe I am using a tank!! lol Love it!!
