Try this

V3 in short mode

remove decor ring

screw on extension cap

then replace decor cap on top of extension tube

I am not going to say this will 100% protect your pro tank but it will sure help a lot, and if you run in short mode you have all the needed parts most likely sitting in a drawer.

Edit: Air flow is slightly reduced. Feels like using the PT on a Ego battery with the decor ring secured up to the bottom of the pt

Can't you drill some holes to help with the Air Flow with a dremel or something ?

Thanks

All depends on which V3 build you have. Mine has 2 different size tubes. One for short mode and one for long.

I think the SS vamo3 has the two same-sized tubes, similar to how the v2 works. the chrome and gunmetal versions have the two different tube sizes, at least that's how I've seen them most often.

The chrome and black chrome also come with the two same sized tubes. It depends on what company's spec is being manufactured. One can only guess that factory x may run both variations for multiple contracts. The latest variation I've seen is the so called V4 which is the V2 body with the V3 board and screen. Those wacky Chinese manufacturers, ya gotta love 'em.

Yes but 99% of the time I run my v3 in 18650 mode. If I could get a hold of a extra matching tube to do this all the time. Then I would drill or cut holes in the tube.
OR if you have the two different size battery tubes like I do, you can run in 18650 mode and use the shorter tube & top cap like the OP did ;)
