I ordered from fasttech, the Kamry k200 set, and now after reading the "battery" post in the "definitions" thread I'm a little worried about the batteries that come with the set..$46.59 Kamry K200 Voltage Adjustable Atomizer Resistance Tester Electronic Cigarettes Set - Chrome/ Black / US plug / AC 110-220V at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I would not use those. They are ICR - Li-ions.

What you need are IMR batteries. Li-Mn IMR are suited for high drain, and are the most recommended. The Panasonic CGR18650CH is a similar hybrid and is good quality. These sort of batteries have safer chemistry and are suite for high drain use:
$10.51 Panasonic CGR18650CH Rechargeable 2250mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Batteries 2-pack - authentic cells / 2-pack at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Or any of the ones in this post:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/376482-vamo-battery-question.html#post8521341

That post includes a link to the Panasonic CGR18650CH that I linked to above, but from RTD Vapor.

What does icr and imr mean? Why the hell do they sell them with the set then, kinda dumb, no? Could I still use that charger

ICR - Lithium cobalt. IMR - Lithium Manganese. IMRs are a safer chemistry. KIts sometimes come with batteries that aren't ideal - probably because they were cheap for the manufacturer. I could speculate, but I don't know why the hell some kits come with batteries that aren't the best suited for mod vaping. Yeah, you could use the charger. I couldn't see what kind of charger it is though.

Here's a short blog post I did on mod battery safety as well:

I appreciate your help. I know a lot of this information is on here already its just a lot to sift through and hard to understand. I I'm looking at those Panasonic's that you suggested now and just one more quick question how do you know icr from imr? I don't see it listed on either one.

The ICRs - if you look at the 6th pic on that page you linked to - the batteries are lying on their sides - you can see ICR on the label.
The Panasonics - are not strictly IMR - they are a hybrid that gets called IMR because they are similar. They are just as good - some say better. Its something that's been researched by looking at the specs and the tests done on them, and many vapers know what they are and use them.

You think that mod is still worth the price if I'm gonna just order seperate batteries and charger?

I don't think the Kamry K200 is worth it. Here's why - it won't fire below 3.7 volts - it has a major flaw. Read this vendor's honest review - he dropped the price right down on them after testing them:
K100 Mechanical - Full Kit - Gold

I would recommend either of these from Fasttech:
$41.08 iTaste SVD Telescoping Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette Battery Compartment at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Buy batteries and charger separate. Telescopes so takes different size batteries.

or this:
http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/...vivi-voltage-adjustable-e-cigarette-battery-c
That's a stainless steel Vamo with the right charger and batteries inlcuded.

Both of those pvs are variable voltage, and have variable wattage as well. Just suggestions. The Kamry K200 is not worth it in my view, but if you don't mind not going below 3.7 volts then its a good deal at Fasttech.

ok canceled that order...i checked the links u gave me, I like the vamo! I'm in the us so i need the us version (obviously) thank you so much for your time, i really do appreciate it! but...:psince you've already answered so much i'm sure you won't mind answering a couple more questions pertaining to that vamo (1) the other batteries, trustfire, no good? (2) the set with the smaller batteries with the atomizers, no good? (3) what atomizer would be a good option to get? (that's a few questions, sorry) I'm a pain in the ..., I know. I just like to know what I'm buying...and just so you know, I have spent days surfing this forum, I am just on Imformation overload, and i consider myself a fairly intelligent person, I have no idea how some people are able to wrap their heads around all this info...

Brandon - sorry - I meant to link to the US charger one:
$51.42 Vamo-Vivi Voltage Adjustable E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Set - with Nitecore I2 US battery charger/charger cable/2*Panasonic 18650 batteries at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

That's the one. Will edit my other post too.
(1)Trustfire batteries - not for a variable voltage/variable wattage mod, and not the most recommended even for mechanical mods.
(2)The set with the smaller batteries - I assume this is the 18350s? You can pick those up cheap here - good quality AW IMR or Efest IMR. Check out RTD vapor for for AW IMR 18350. Links here.
(3) Any 510 atomizer would be good to get. What Fasttech calls an atomizer isn't always an atomizer. A lot of people are using Pro-tanks and they have good reports. Also getting good reports are Kanger T3s, and Evods. I use Vision vivi novas - the 3.5ml ones. I've used them for along time. With attachments - there are always clones and knock offs - some of which work and some are appalling.

Firstly, Vamo user manual here:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/359600-vamo-vv-vw-v2-user-manual-download.html

Firs thing to do when you get the Vamo is put it into NO 2 mode -which is the accurate RMS mode.

Variable wattage: You set the watts on the display e.g. 7 watts. The Vamo reads the resistance of your attachment, and automatically sets the voltage to give 7 watts. For myself, I prefer variable wattage over variable voltage because I can switch from one accessory to another and stay at the same watts. Or I can adjust watts and not worry about calculating whether the volts are ok with the ohms - the device adjusts the volts automatically to the right level.

I can also adjust watts with different juices, and again not worry about volts and ohms being mismatched since it adjusts the volts automatically. Since I have a lot of different juices this works well for me. Sometimes I just change the watts with the same juice - depending whether I want it a little cooler, or I feel like getting the warmer taste. I like some juices at more than one temperature. So I adjust the watts, which is the power, with a simple click or two and vape.

Its a more convenient, cruise control way of setting the temperature of your vape.
Not getting sick of you - I'm glad you have had the initiative to ask about these things.

Thankyou. Enjoy the mod when it arrives. I met some-one from Long island about 3 weeks ago and was asking them about it. New York is where everyone wants to visit. And now for coffee...

I read that whole thing 2x before i started this thread. It's a lot to wrap your head around for the average person without some feedback...whoever thought quitting smoking was gonna require a degree in electronics and chemistry LOL! I gotta admit though it's fun, It's like totally becoming another hobby for me to obsess over and spend money on...The last thing I got this obsessed with was when I started surfcasting 5 years ago. I can't tell you how much money I spent on that....
