Worth waiting for "watt adjustable" mods?

So I have decided to move on from the eGo world and try hanging with you big dogs. Been doing a lot of research over the past few days in regards to options/money/terms/knowledge/etc. I figure I will buy myself an christmas present this year and get something "nicer".

The question now is should I wait for newer models that allow me to adjust what watts my rig is at? I have a slight understanding that reading watts is the "better" measurement instead of volts. I am starting to see VW items show up around the internet(Nivel chips, Darwins, kicks, etc). Are we to start seeing a wave/flood of these devices hit the market soon? I'd hate to see a provari "v3" hit the market right after I picked up a v2(not specifically a provari, just an example).

I know this is just a thread of speculation and guessing. Just curious, as I am sure others are too.

A Provari provides variable watts, it just doesnt have a screen that lets you set it. Adjusting the voltage up or down until you find your sweet spot is childs play. You can do this with an ego twist too.Variable watts is nice for the lazy people and the 'fiddlers" (those who contantly change atomizer ohms, juices, cartos etc but not really necessary IMO.

I'm quite capable of doing the math in my head, but since it has the ability to measure ohms and control voltage, it's kind of a no brainer as a next step that it should be able to do that for me. I like having multiple flavors and clearos going. I don't feel like fiddling with it, especially if I'm driving. I don't even like fiddling with the Twist mechanism when driving. And I do most of my vaping in my car since I have a long commute.

I hate that it's impossible to want anything other than a provari without being made to feel silly. Look, some of us like tinkering. Remember the feeling of "anything's possible" you had before you owned the best? You literally have nowhere to go from a provari. Boring as hell.

By nowhere to go I hope you mean "not back to analogs" That is after all the point for many of us. Tinkering and building mods is just a really cool side effect and why I hope Provape doesnt come out with a variable wattage device since modders arent their main customer base.

Im not saying I dont want to see one, I just think it makes more sense for one of the RBA guys to come out with their own version of a VW mod. They certainly have the technical and machine skills to do it.

You know.....I cant help but agree with this 100000% I think the modding/tinkering aspect of vaping is a good portion of why I enjoy vaping so much. On one hand I do agree with the feeling silly for liking anything but a provari. I am far from an "elitest" if you will BUT I do feel that this is one of those hobbies where you should always have a guaranteed fall back. I am def interested in diving face first into .... that I have no business dealing with(its how i learn) but I cant let my mess ups stop me from all of our ultimate goals here. Know what I mean?

I'm a modder. I've built VV boxes and liked them. I'm past the finding the sweet spot. I know how warm I like my vapor. I've recently built a VW box with bottomfeed and a A7 RBA on top. This is simply great to me. I don't have to worry with how many wraps I put on a coil. The DNA 12 does the math for me. I have my sweet spot set, no matter what. I think VW is better than VV if all you're after is a consistent vape. If you like to wiggle warmer or cooler, VV may be better. I can adjust my watts to be warmer, but I like it where it's set, so I leave it alone.

I think there will be more VW mods coming soon enough. The DNA 20 that's slated for December-release should open doors for some people to present Darwin-competitive APVs. I may pick up one or two of the new VW circuits to build around, but I'm sincerely content with the functions of the DNA 12, as it stands.

This is the exact reason I ordered a ZMax instead of the Provari. The price difference was not enough to bother me...the VW feature was the deciding factor.

I recently added a Kick to my mod. Its a 3.7/ 6 volt MOD. I love being able to set it at lets say , 8 watts, which outputs to 4.25 volts. What is cool like someone already stated is that it doesnt matter what you put on it, it performs the same. You can put a 1.7 or 3.0 ohm device and it vapes the same . It adjusts the output for you. If you want a warmer vape set it at 9 or 10 and you'll get 5 or 6 volt output. If you want a cooler vape than set it lower.

Honestly, I think VW is a fad.

I'm currently vaping on a Vivi Nova with a head that measures 2.3 ohms. An hour ago, I was vaping on a vivi nova that measured 2.3 ohms. They were cleaned & dry burned at about the same time. Both are stock heads. Both heads have been through about the same number of cleaning cycles and are about the same age. Both have had about the same amount of juice throug them since their last cleaning.

As far as I know, the only difference between them is the juice.

One of them rocks at 5.1V. The other burns at 4.3V.

The "Power Sweet Spot" is so dependent on juice that I just don't see the point of VW.

I expected some off topic posts but geez. The thread is about upcoming mods with VW. If you are posting an opinion about VW vs. VV then there are plenty of threads that would fit the bill.

I know that the Zmax v2 is due any day and there is going to be a Gripper. I am intensely interested in stuff that we will see based on the DNA20d. I would have bought a Darwin but I think Evolv is more interested in making and marketing brains for the market than mods.

The Vape world will be very different by this time next year.
Note that any implied facts above are nothing more than my opinions.

The Zmax 2 is already out. Tests so far showing the RMS is giving good accuracy.

That's what I've been reading. I suppose that update might put that issue to bed. I'm happy with my Zmax v1 though I might pick up a v2 to have around as well. I want the same tech in a more pocket-able form factor. I could do something with the kick but I think I'll wait for now.
