Review:
Have to start by saying that opening Wotofo boxes is always a nightmare if you don’t want to destroy anything, the hard plastic cover sits so tights that it takes some nerve to get it taken of the box, don’t really understand why it is so tight as there is also plastic wrap around the whole kit.

It’s a beautiful looking pod-mod, and the leather flaws into the zinc alloy very nicely, no additional frames are added to keep it in place. It has the regular kind of weight (166g with 18650) for such pod-mod, but it is a bit taller compared to its competitors, for example the Drag X, it is 3 cm taller.

It feels nicely in the hand, and the coating and paint on the zinc alloy is really done properly, it feels very smooth. The leather provides a nice grip to it. As you know it’s an 18650 pod-mod, which always is a win. The battery door type is not my preferred type, but this one feels solid, its not rattling when opened and sits nice and tight when closed.

Large screen contains most important information, battery %, wattage, voltage, Ohms, puff counter and vape timer, but the screen it is a bit dim and not adjustable. It is fine when not right into the sunlight. All buttons feel nice and solid, not rattling. The fire button is sticking out a bit on the bottom for a comfortable fire.
Even though it has a large screen, there is not too many functionalities on this pod-mod, quite minimal. There is no additional menu’s to the home screen and the device only supports VW. There is however some nice functionalities; lock wattage only by holding the + and - buttons simultaneously, lock the fire-button by clicking the fire button 3 times, reset the puff-counter by holding fire and - button, and last but not least switch between 6 color themes by holding the fire button and + button.

When holding the adjustment buttons is scrolls fast from 5w to 80W and it does go back to 5W once reached 80W and vice versa. It adjusts in 1W increments which is totally fine as it’s a DTL pod-mod only considering the available coils.
Main downside of this device is that there is no airflow adjustment, something I expect from pod-mods nowadays. But I must also in the same time admit that the airflow for the provided coils is quite spot on, at least for me.

Pods click right into place with a strong click system, no magnets on the pod nor device. It sits very well inside the device and does not wiggle. You can easily remove the pod by pushing the designated button on the top of the device.

Good thing is that you have no need to take out the pod unless you need to change a coil as it is top fill. Removing the rubber gasket uncovers a large fill-hole. 4.5ml is OK, could be better, but also worse. With larger bottle tips the drip-tip can be a bit in the way, but the fill-hole is so large that it shouldn’t cause issues there. Pods are on the dark side, but still are transparent enough to see the liquid, and Wotofo designed it in this way that the pod is almost fully visible while inserted, good thing. Coils press fit only one way; the straight part needs to line up with the plastic center pieces sticking out.

Unfortunately, it does not have replaceable drip-tips, you need to be happy with the one you get on the pod. For me it’s a comfortable round drip-tip, the type which fits this type of device.
Best part is that this thing just vapes so well. It fires up pretty much instantly and the flavor and cloud production on these coils is just outstanding, for me a real contender to the Vaporesso GTX coils. And let me tell you something, these coils are cross-compatible with Voopoo’s PnP coils and Vaporesso GTX coils, which is great! So even if you already own a GTX or PnP coil device, you can just get yourself some of these Wotofo Manik coils to give it a try.

All coils, #D11 0.2ohm 45-55w, #D13 0.2ohm 37-43w, #D14 0.2ohm 35-40W and #D15 45-55W vape just all amazingly great. All are mesh coils with a twist to it, but if I must choose my favorite coil it would be the #15 Clapton mesh coil. I have been a fan of Clapton mesh since I tried it, it provides a bit warmer vape with more concentrated flavor, but slightly less vapor.
Have not experienced any mess with the coils nor pod, no leaking and no gurgling, all just very pleasant.
An RBA base will be still released later on this year for the Manik, and from the pictures I have seen online it will be a dual and single base, would be great to see a dual RDTA pod on an 80W device!
Conclusion:
Have to say that Wotofo did a good job on this one, especially with the knowledge its their first pod-mod, it already beats many pod-mods from the more ‘experiences’ pod-mod producers. It is a properly made solid device that looks very nice. For some it might be a bit too minimal, but I personally think a pod-mod does not need much more than the Manik offers.
With 4 coil options you have something to choose from, and no matter which one you try, the flavor will be amazing and dense, one of the best pod-mod coils out there right now. Them being cross compatible with PnP and GTX devices is a major win.
If anything, I would improve it would be airflow adjustment, replaceable 510-drip tip, and brightness adjustment. AND the packaging, they should replace that hardcover plastic from the box.
Good news is that this kit is also not pricy for what you get, on the official Wotofo website it is sold for 39,95$ > Wotofo Manik Pod Mod
Thank you for reading!
