I love subohming and haven't looks back since. .8 on my Segelie 20w and .6 on my mechs. Has nothing to do with clouds for me, I love the heat and extra flavour. The heat is the closest I can find to copy that of a cigarette. And going under 1ohm doesn't magically make huge clouds. If you are worried about clouds don't be. Making the clouds is all in the technique and airflow. You can make small clouds when you sub ohm. I really do have an apprehension to call myself a sub omer as we have gotten a bad wrap in the community. I wish that could change but oh well to each their own :D

i use a 15 Watt VV mod. I basically vape according to a standard volt chart. E.g: about 4volts for a 1.8 ohm coil. If I raised a 1.8 ohm to even like 4.5V, it's too harsh. I get more vapor but wouldn't like it. So should i not even bother with sub ohm stuff?

Kinda Hard to Say.

It's like Asking... "Would I like putting Tabasco Sauce in Honey Mustard Salad Dressing?"

You just Don't Know until your Try It.

The benefits of lower gauge is more surface area so you get more vapor. Treat this all as a primer... once you start playing with different gauge kanthal, I think you'll be well on your way to shaping your vape to your liking and you'll kind of figure out the questions you should be asking.

I played around with some coils this morning, using 30 and 28 gauge. I ended up using 30g making both a 2 and 2.4hohm coil. You're right, with more surface area there is a difference. It's kind of a smoother vape with slightly more flavor. It's of something I'd thought of before, experimenting with surface area, but not too seriously enough to care about it. Really, thanks for your help :toast:

I started with those tanks that are really high ohm, and just didnt like it, for me i cant taste any flavor on those. after getting frustrated with those, i got a K100 with an IGOw and playe around with 28G and 26G wire, since then the only time ive built any coils over 1ohm was for my wifes mod that cant go under 1.3ohm.. but back to the subject, subohming (to me) is the best thing in the world, best flavor ive tasted, best clouds etc. My daily all day vape is usually dual 22 or 24G coils at between .2-.35ohms. I love the big clouds on top of the great flavor. I say what the one person on the first page said with getting a mech and an RDA and experiment a little, you may be really surprised with the performance. dont be scared to venture into the unknown, just be safe while doing it.
