Never seen this battery before. Reading the description, this is neither a protected Li-Ion battery or a safe chemistry battery like an IMR. The only positive I read is the 20 amp continuous discharge rate is admirable. IMR batteries are now recommended over protected Li-Ions, and this battery appears to be neither of those. I would be hesitant to use this battery unless you also use a Vape Safe Mod Fuse or 2 Cents for Safety Fuse.

Most important is what juice delivery attachments will you be using? RBA/RDA's require an IMR battery. I have a suggested list of IMR and hybrid batteries recommended for both mechanical and regulated mods in this link.

I believe tenergy rewraps cells but they do warranty them, from the button it looks like a panasonic
this cell is being specifies in the data sheet as mainly used for cell packs. while i wouldnt doubt it will work fine i wouldnt use it in a mod.without more information and test data (like you find on the flashlight forums)

Looking at the picture of that battery on the website, I think it says ICR18650 on it. There is no indication it is protected. I would not even think about using this in a mechanical mod. Pipe bomb comes to mind

The listed charge rate is 4A, which is way too high for a 1400 mAh batt. That would be a full charge in 21 minutes. I would not do that with my lipo's. I do not believe the discharge rate of 20A has any chance of being accurate.

Does anyone know if all 18500 batteries are protected? I'm looking for an AW IMR 18500..RTDVapor only carries the protected ones or would it make sense to just settle with an 18490 unprotected?

What you want are the IMR batteries. They are not protected. Like this one at RTD Vapor. I don't believe RTD carries any protected AW batts.

Ya I have a few AW IMRs..I was looking for an AW IMR 18500 and this is the only one they had for AW Protected 18500. I'll just get the 18490 unprotected. I think it's about 1mm difference :D Thanks for the reply!

Thank you, I didn't see the protected cells at RTD. I believe they are ICR batteries. Did a search and found this. Yes, I chose the IMR's too :thumb:
