Okay, I've seen the oscillascope readings on the vamo and the ProVari. Here's the question though, will the end user actually notice the fractional second drops in voltage? For the end user to actually notice, that coil has to drop in heat a significant amount. The coil is a physical device which has to change in heat based on the power it's given and cool down during that interval. Does it have time during that interval to change heat and how fast will it drop heat?

You can certainly argue that it's not good for the coil for that to occur, since rapid temperature changes stress metal. However, in terms of the vape, I'm not sure it even matters. You can say it does, but it's the coil(s) that produce the vape. Fractional second changes in voltage probably aren't going to matter in terms of the physics.

See that's the thing that is subjective, the first thing I noticed after getting my provari was how much smoother the vape was. Some people say they can't tell the difference.

the shape of the mod is just looks, with regulated mods its literally all about the build quality and the chip quality. If its better, but in box shape idc. and those other box mods(besides the REO, which is the best box mod for the money IMO) are over-priced as well IMO and why would i get a regulated mod for sub-ohms? thats kinda stupid, its do-able but why? mech mods are cheaper and usually work better on subohm coils.

I should leave this alone (Please don't call me a shrew again Dusty, i can haz sniffle?)

Setting aside that the Reo is a bottom-feeder (which wasn't mentioned), what makes it the "best box mod for the money" in your opinion?

Who is "they?" and how do you know "they" don't know how to use something?

I can mod a cartridge with Fluval and a teabag, as well as make micro-coils. I also have all sorts of mods. I am presently vaping a ProVari/KFL+ in rotation with a Reo/RM2. Do you consider me a "they?"

These threads crack me up. The question, almost 60 pages ago, was ultimately, "is a ProVari worth what they sell for". Yet among the barrage of facts about what you are getting for the price, it turns into a "my mod is better than your mod" debate, comparing apples to oranges. If I asked "Is it worth the extra money for me to buy a Ram pickup?", it really does not help me to know how many smart cars you could buy for the price....or how many bicycles....

End of the day, they are all tools, some better quality than others, some for different jobs than others. To some people, it is all about cost. To others, they would gladly pay DOUBLE the cost because they can't afford the downtime if something goes wrong. For some, it's about bells, whistles and the little thing that goes "Ping"... For others it's about style and bling. Some of us vape to quit smoking. For others it's about the flavors and relaxation, while others want to chase clouds.

Ultimately, though, for us to waste our time fighting over crap like this, when there are national, state, regional, and local governments trying to take vaping from us (or find their way to get their hands in the revenues) is absurd.

Peace, out, and carry on...make love, not war and all of that other hippy-drippy, tree hugging, granola eating, kumbaya singing stuff </RANT>

they do not do the same thing. wattage and voltage are different.

Of course they are different. Voltage measures the pressure, or FORCE, of electricity; Wattage is a measure of the amount of use, or WORK, that can be produced. It is dependent on voltage, resistance and amperage.

There is no such thing as "variable wattage" in electronics, it is a slang term for a type of variable power device. One cannot vary the outcome, one can only vary the elements that produce the outcome.

It's the Law

Warnings to new vapers:
1) More math is required to use a mechanical device than a variable voltage device.
2) This type of debate thread is posted weekly. No one gives a flying fruit bat what device(s) you choose to use. There is no "best" of anything, except what makes you happy.

ETA: Sorry for repeating Ohm's Law, I read the thread further and saw it was covered. Still, I got to post my groovy wheel. :)

first learn how to spell my name. might be seeing ALOT more of it. and thats because people like you think volts and watts are the same...

Since you mentioned spelling: "a lot" is two words and "thats" should have an apostrophe.

This may be a true statement but why on earth would someone buy a 2 years old mod for only $20 less than a new one? :)

For the same reason someone will buy a 2 year old Honda Civic for $4000 less than a new one - to save 8% on something that they know will last pretty much as long as a new one!

So a Honda Civic runs $50k now? Yikes! :)

Even if it was I don't know anyone that would buy a $50k 2 year old car and only save $4k on the deal.
