firstly i said the hana modz are flat out better, not cheaper. the VTR wheel problem has been fixed since the end of last year, it is now a fixed wheel, not spinning as it used to be, and there are "color" options for the VTR that are matte so no fingerprint magnet :) and it is better because it is VV and VW and has a wider range. Also my battery last longer on my VTR than in my friends provari at the same setting

The thread is about Vamo vs Provari, not box mods vs Provari.

I like my VTR, even if I don't use it, but it cannot remotely compare to a Provari. Your battery lasts longer probably because you are using a flat top Panasonic, while the Provari only uses IMR AW button tops. 2900 mAh vs 2000 mAh. This is a safety feature for newbies. It may be overkill, but some people prefer safety overkill. Same setting, same topper, same juice, it doesn't last longer, for an inferior vape.

the shape of the mod is just looks, with regulated mods its literally all about the build quality and the chip quality. If its better, but in box shape idc. and those other box mods are over-priced as well IMO and why would i get a regulated mod for sub-ohms? thats kinda stupid, its do-able but why? mech mods are cheaper and usually work better on subohm coils.

Why would you get a Hana or a VTR mod if you are sub-ohming, you're who brought those up? As for chip quality, which typically includes problem free operation, you are comparing Provari's chip to a DNA? LOL!

no sir same exact battery. as in take it out of one and put into other. and i still don't see any difference at all in vape quality.
and the question was would you spend the $ on a provari. the answer is NO!!!

because you brought up the point about firing at .2 ohms
the chip better damn well be working flawlessly if it doesn't have half the range.

No problems at all with my lavatube(2) except it kept my wallet fat haha

Whatever dude, I have owned both and they are miles apart in every conceivable comparison. Like I said if cheap is your primary concern then you have done well. Carry on

to each their own. the way i see it there are better mods than the provari, yes they are more expensive, but wasn't that your argument to get the provari? its more expensive but better?

Actually no, my primary concerns was durability and reliability. The accuracy of the voltage regulation and the superior quality of the vape were just icing on the cake.

maybe a bit more durable than some, don't know exactly what you mean by reliable?
Idk where this superior quality of vape is coming from. I've noticed no difference when using same wattage, same dripper and same bettery

There you go again spouting opinion as fact. The fact that it is VW does not make it "better". VW is a number like VV. And don't pull the newbie Ronco "set it and forget it argument" as anyone who has been vaping longer than a month knows, different juices and different toppers react differently to different wattages. 10 watts on an EVOD is much different than 10 Watts on a Nautilus Aspire which is much different than 10 watts on a Kayfun. This doesn't take into effect that the voltage regulation of the VTR can be up to 10 times less accurate that a ProVari. So what's the point of having VW if it really ISN'T putting out the 10 Watts you set it to?

You conveniently left out any retort to the lack of post warranty support, or lack of support of any kind. If your VTR malfunctions you are at the mercy of the person you purchased it from, or you have to send it back to China and hope you get it back before the next Chinese New Year.

ProVape has an excellent warranty and post warranty support program which will allow me to get my device repaired should it need it. How many repairs has Innokin done for those early adopters who were unfortunate to buy bad wheels? NONE? Yeah, I kind of thought so.

As far as hana modz being flat out better, again another opinion stated as fact. The fact that any DNA mod can't adjust the voltage below the actual voltage of the battery is quite a limitation. It means there are a good many cartos and clearomizers that will not work on this device. Also, the Hana, like other DNA mods use an OLED display which is rather fragile when in contact with liquid. I have actually dunked my ProVari in a full glass of water with no ill effects. I can guarantee you will not be able to do the same with a Hana Mod. While I don't make it a habit to dunk my vape gear (well yes I do.....) it's nice to know it can survive a drop in a mud puddle or won't die if I get caught out in the rain or some drunk spills his beer on it.

The Provari chip DOES work flawlessly, at nearly 1/2 the price of the DNA 30. That's a truly strange argument, and you really are a newbie to vaping aren't you:)?

I can tell the difference between the vape quality, for instance, between the provari and the lavatube. Very noticable to me, thats why after I got the provari within a week I never used my lavatube anymore. Not to mention as the battery drains it becomes even more noticeable between the two. As for reliability, the provari just works everytime you press the button. Without fail, it always works.

I thought you said there are better and cheaper mods out there. So what you meant to say is......

There are better mods out there.....but they are more expensive.
There are cheaper mods out there....but they are not better.

Well, if that's what you meant to say, then we are in complete agreement and there is no need to say anymore.

I haven't seen anything to show the VTR's 10 times less accurate, mine is pretty much spot on unless im not completely threaded. ok the provari is semi water-proof. that means nothing to me regarding any electronics. i use mine in normal, dry conditions, yes i have said the warranty is definitely in provape's corner

strange argument? a chip with less range will work better than one with more. less margin for error. and no i am not new to vaping, just new to this site lol. just got into rebuilables tho and loving them:)

in general yes, but i do think there are a few, namely the vtr and lavatube, which are at least as good IMO and are cheaper. when first released, yes the provari was miles ahead of any other regulated mod, but they have not gotten any better since, while other companies have stepped up to compete with the provari and built better mods

Ancient American ProVarian ProVerb say," Many moons ago ProVari came into existence. American stainless steel, ingenuity and know how, designed around a chip and made using military manufacturing standards, ProVari has stood the test of time. FastTech specials have come and gone; ProVari 'killers' and the like, yet ProVari grow in numbers everyday. Fancy screens and higher power mods are simply no match for a ProVari in the hands of a ProVarinati..."

Look at Pbusardos numbers.

The ProVari NEVER varied more than .02 (yes folks that's Hundredths, not tenths) volts from it's set voltage across all voltages and resistances and it retained that level of accuracy throughout the entire discharge cycle of the battery.

The VTR was off by .1 to .2 (tenths) volts off in almost all ranges of voltage and resistance.. When set to 5.5 volts on a 3 ohm load the VTR fired .4 volts high. When set to Variable wattage again, it was off by .1 to .2 volts in almost all wattage settings, but at 9 watts, it fired a 3 ohm load .6 volts high. Mathematically this makes the VTR normally 5 to 10 times but up to 30 times less accurate than the ProVari.

I imagine you have an O-Scope to actually validate your findings of it being spot on, since you wouldn't be able to put an inline volt meter on it.....(due to it's unfiltered PWM and all).

I'm not making this stuff up, I'm simply looking at a guy who has the equipment and did similar measurements on the VTR and ProVari and published his findings.

But, when it does come to opinion, I do trust Pbusardo pretty implicitly. This guy has access and tried nearly every mod out there. He recently was asked if ALL of his vape gear were stolen, what would he spend HIS OWN MONEY to purchase back.... He said a ProVari and a Kayfun.....Now THAT's an opinion I give some value to.

I just dont see the great deal about the provari. I have held one, vaped one....honestly no, I dont see the price justified. Sure they are built great and whatnot, but out dated technology as far as ecigs are concerned. Kind of like the iphone of ecigs. Die hard fans and for what they do, they do it well for the most part. But no real innovation or improvements. Just the same rehashed programming in a different colord shell.
