the regular EGO with Clearomizers and cartos? I haven't tried the C but it looks a lot simpler for someone just starting with no "live on hands" help. I am not close enough and there is no shop around there. Does it vape well, good taste, produce good vapor? I know PG mix plays a part.

Thanks for suggestions. With my limited knowledge I'm recommending a couple of minis for stealth and a couple of ego batteries a 650 and 900 to start. Trying to keep it cheap and easy so she will try it.

Thanks for the help she already has mega health problems form cigs and REALLY needs to find an alternative.

I started with an ego-t and don't regret it. Easy to use, easy to keep track of the juice, and with the 1100 mah battery, it lasted long enough to not worry about it running down constantly. I'm still using the battery but have moved on to other clearos and a few cartos. It's def something I would recommend for a beginner. Far less hassle than some out there.

Just a suggestion, but you can get the Vision eGo Spinner, which is 1300 mah compared to the eGo Twist, which I believe is 1000 mah, for the same price.

I just purchased a Spinner for $25.00.

It also has marking on the battery, for changing voltage, which is easier to see then the markings on the actual bottom cap, which is where the eGo Twist's marking are.

Do a search for reviews of the Spinner on YouTube, then decide. There's even a comparison between the Spinner and the Twist.

Definitely go with a twist or spinner [Twist Knock Off] or for something even simpler the Itaste MVP

This thread might help. It's been bumped around 5 times!

Don't go with a non variable volt unit.

Excerpt from Post to help with decision;
Both of my selections for the Vaping unit are VV. You will see VV on the forum often, it stands for Variable Voltage. The advantage of Variable voltage is that you can raise and lower the Voltage or temperature at which you vape. This allows you to use a wider array of Clearomizers or Cartomizers and juices because you can adjust your unit to give you the best vape. Another advantage of VV Variable voltage is that it stabilizes your voltage

I have to conditionally disagree with tomzgreat.

Some new users won't be able to grasp ohms and volts and will simply assume as so many do that more should mean better and get ...... off when they get burning wicks instead of vapor.

But only you can make that determination for your potential convert. My father in law has been vaping almost as long as I have (about a year, now) and he discarded both the iTaste and a spinner as too complicated for him. I started with regular ole kgos, and while I could have grasped the concept of variable voltage, I'm only just now even using it occasionally because some of my rebuilt vivi nova heads are coming out around 3 ohms.

Let's agree to disagree. Thank you for your post, I realize on my thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/395952-recommendation-all-new-vapors-bump-if-you-think-its-valuable.html that I need to give instructions on how to use VV devices.

Did your father in law have an Itaste MVP in his hands? With the Itaste there is no menu, you don't have to know about OHms. You don't have to know anything if you are given the right instructions.

Is it possible with the following simple instructions that it might have been a success.?

Dad when you begin push the down - button to the very lowest point which is 3.3 than take a drag. If you like it stay there. If not push the + button 1 time to raise the voltage.Take another drag, Keep doing that until you take a drag and like it. If it ever tastes too hot just push the down button 1 time, take a drag....

I'll repeat, the Itaste doesn't have an OHMs reader or Menus.

I started out on Blu's, but upgraded to an Ego-C when the cap to my Blu's broke. I don't regret it at all. Vapes great, easy to use, and easy to maintain (the little maintenance it requires I actually find relaxing, but I'm the weird type of guy who'll clean a rifle for fun, so... :p). I'm considering upgrading to a Twist battery, but that's depending how much I want to treat myself on by birthday tomorrow. ;)

the MVP doesn't have an ohm reader. He had a v2 regular iTaste, ohm reader and simple enough button presses to change the voltage. He didn't understand no matter how many times i demonstrated.

he had a 1300mah twist which I have since absconded with, he didn't understand it either when i said "alright papa, 3.8v will be just like the kgos, but you can tweak it up and down" etc.

It was explained to him, it was simply beyond him. There have been threads complaining of similar incomprehension recently.

I'm not saying every potential convert WON'T understand, I'm saying you should make a judgement call before you hand them VV. Else their own incomprehension may prevent them from making the switch when they're trying to shoot 5.7 volts though a LR carto..

ETA my mother in law really really wanted him to grasp the iTaste since it has automatic shutoff after charging, and she was sick to death of having to babysit the kgo batteries when they're on the charger.

For those that I think are not going to get into this as a hobby.. I do suggest the eGo-C standard kit. It's simple, though it does require maintenance and care. It can be upgraded to Clearo's or Carto's, even DCT's. The parts are all over the place and easy to get. Most B&M's have something that will fit them, or sell them.
That's what I started on, it's what I started my wife on, started 5 friends on, and finally, just last week, turned my neighbor on to it with my last eGo-C setup.
Moved right up to eGo-T upgrade battery mods, then to VAMO's and now the wife also has an eVic.
I still have 2 eGo-C atty systems here that I use for dripping, which fit on my eGo-T upgrades (haven't tried it on the VAMO yet) and I have a mechanical due in any day now I can use those with.

I've had eGo-C systems or parts for a month longer than I have been not smoking. They got me started and I can only praise them, as I curse them also, but they work!

You have a point.
That's why on my post http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/395952-recommendation-all-new-vapors-bump-if-you-think-its-valuable.html i just added two threads with detailed instructions for the novice on how to operate the units. I believe that 99.9% of humanity could watch the pbusardo Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjWkTVcRz-U and or read my post and operate a VV device.

I think it has to be as simple as possible and as close to smoking as possible. Every thing listed so far is to much for a first time user.

Think about smoking cigarettes. You can buy them anywhere. No cleaning or maintenance. Easy to transport, only a pack and lighter on the go. You can hold the product with your mouth.

I think they should start with Blu, Njoy or something similar that can be found everywhere. I am NOT saying these products are better than anything listed. They are just easy to use. There is no maintenance. You can buy the stuff on every corner. You can hold the product with your mouth. Very compact and easy to transport. Maybe just get them a couple of disposables first.

After they use it for a while then they will be ready to move to something larger with more maintenance and work.

Another option is the eroll, but there is some maintenance and planing ahead required.
