Have a few friends asking
Would like to get them going on the 'Down Low'

Ego CE4 Portable Personal Vaporizer 650 mAh Vape Pen Charger Starter Kit $7 45 | eBay

For the dollar
For the first

Would you recommend it?

Maybe as a second or backup battery, but as the primary battery in a starter setup, no. That's just a 650 mAh battery that would only be useful for maybe a half a pack a day smoker. Anyone who is a pack or more day smoker needs at least a 1000 - 1300 mAh ego battery.

Those tanks will only last a couple of weeks. No mention if they have replaceable coil heads that can be changed out, so consider them a disposable after a week or two.

Something like this setup is ideal: A Good Starter Setup for a Beginning Vaper

Actually (old man remembering back:blink:) they would be a decent start, with the understanding they need 2x to have a rotation and they understand the Tanks are disposable.
A couple of Kanger T2 tanks would prove better.
larger volume
simple to maintain
replaceable heads

Went that route for many months and still carry Ego's with clearos for work - very convenient.

Only if they understood this is a pre-intro setup. Just enough to let them know that vaping is a possibility.

But for the price? Why not. Just as long as it doesn't turn them off from it.

To quit smoking by vaping, it has to work, work day after day, taste great, cool looking and most important, has to satisfy.

But at the price of 4 or 5 packs of smokes, they could get a significantly better system.

Last thought: How much do you save buying a cheap tool if it doesn't do the job?

I'm a big proponent of this kit for newbs. If you're looking to by a starter kit, don't know where to start, and are confused by all the options, this kit will cover EVERY recommendation that you're going to get here.

- Kanger EVOD ego battery
- variable voltage (you'll want this option soon enough, why not just start with it)
- KANGER Pyrex tanks
- extra coil heads
- A backup battery
- a quality wall charger
- bonus 510 bridge less dripping atomizer for tasting different liquids before committing to a tank full

The price is right too. The steammonkey silverback kit:

Honestly, I would not recommend a "knockoff" ego battery kit at all. I understand that people (um, myself included) go through financial challenges, or skepticism about the possibility of a vaping solution. That said, as a "hoarder" of vaping gadgetry, I would gladly loan/gift one or two of my unused Joyetech or Vision batteries or even an MVP2 to someone to try out.

Frankly I think it all depends on what you want. Some prefer to start with a cig-a-like. I use Halo G6 for at work and in public. That is all I want to have to answer questions about. But I do use the Halo Triton for at home. It's reliable and doesn't give me any problems. These both are easy for a new vaporer. Also much like the Halo Triton the eGo with a Protank mini 2 is also good. The coils burn out quicker than my Triton coils but if you want to vape a "tank cracker" juice you will need a glass tank.

Also mods do have their place for people who are experienced vaporers and like to tinker. If I would have been recommended some triangle box mod or a flashlight shaped thing to vape from when I first started..........I would have never started my journey to quit smoking. I'm not a tinkerer, I don't want to rebuild coils. I just want to have it easy and reliable.

I am going to upgrade to a Mod, but this is what I first bought ... works extremely well, and this Clearomizer uses a cheap replaceable coil / wick assembly.

Kanger T2 'Sunfire' Clearomizer (version 2 with longer wicks) .k.f.$ 4.29 .....Kanger T2 Sunfire 2.4 - 2.6ohm Clearomizer / Cartomizer - Vaping Me

Kanger Replaceable Coil/Wick Cartridge (5-pack) .......................$ 3.99 .....Kanger T2 Sunfire 70mm Long Wick Replacement Atomizer Coils 5-Pack - Vaping Me

Vision 'Spinner' Variable Volt Battery (900 mAh) ........................$20.99 ....https://www.easyvaping.com/Vision-900-mah-Spinner_p_564.html

Those things have worked fine for me just starting out. Check out the seller and make sure they don't have too many negatives. I bought a couple of these cheap eGo kits on eBay and then bought some CE4s. I was trying so much new juice, if the juice was really nasty, then I would just trash the CE4. Now that I have the juice that I like, I am looking to upgrade to the "big girl" stuff. But I will still keep some of these.

That's a stripped down version of mine with a better tank!

Yeah! That's a good setup. Only difference my first rocked an iclear16. Same idea, though w/ a long wick top coil. Still use it every day. There's a reason I strongly recommend what I recommend (and many others). It may be "starter" gear, but it works well and is dependable. Just REALLY worth a little more money to get into something like a VV stick battery and replaceable coil toppers. When we're talking lower priced beginner pieces, you mostly (some are luckier than I, though) get what you pay for.

First off; Thank you all for your responses!

A couple of these folks are using the 'disposables' you buy at the gas station..
Have to think it would be better than those.. and I don't even know what those cost..

The others are just curious and not ready to spend any 'real' money to buy something 'unknown' to them

All are ready to do something, just uncertian

For $7, I just couldn't see the hurt..
That is, as you all have said, that they know, it's still not the real deal

I've seen a few of these on on 'That site' and run about the same dollar
Agreed, buy for someone reputable
That at least insures you get what you paid for

I'm probably only going to recommend this to the folks that really have no clue, with a few caveats
To the others, I'll offer up what Fit posted (still small dollar for something that works better than the disposables).

Again, thank you all!
You're the best!
