Pay it forward! Have tonnes of old mods, pens and random ecigs laying around? Give em to a smoker you know, set whatever it is up just right so it's just grab and vape, educate them on it, throw in a 10ml of juice that you didn't like to get them started :) Just stipulate that if they upgrade or don't end up using it to give it back so someone else can use it.... I'd advise against giving someone a mech to start with out of safety concerns though...

I absolutely hate seeing people with a 100 mods sitting on a shelf when they could be helping someone quit :)

My strategy is as follows: I take a smoker to a B&M and let them buy a juice they like. Then they can borrow a double evod/mini protank kit for about a week. Having to pay for their juice initially, seems to be the incentive to give vaping a serious chance. If, after a week they want to continue vaping, I advise them on a decent starter kit, but they need to buy it. They can't buy the kit they borrowed, that would be too easy, besides, I need it back for the next smoker wanting to see if vaping is for them. I'll advise them on which kit to buy and decent online stores.
So far this seems to be working.

A great msg. for the New Year, good for posting it.

Pay It Forward is always a good message, whether it be vaping, starving children, animals who need rescuing, chores for elderly neighbors, etc.

I PIF 10% of my horse racing winnings to horse rescues/sanctuaries. It's funny, but there's some kind of "energy wheel" in PIF....the more I give the more I seem to get back.

I'm always more than willing to help someone quit. Just spent a few hours rewinding coils and mixing juice for a friend, who I am sure would give up without help from another vaper. Anything I own is fair game if it helps someone. But they have to demonstrate the desire to quit and make some sort of an effort on their own before I just throw things at them.

I've been vaping since 2011. A co-worker just asked me to accompany him to the vape store for his first kit last week. I have given him no vape gear yet, but will most certainly help him if his desire continues. It took almost 5 years of watching me and others before he finally decided to give it a go (he is a lifelong smoker). He got his starter kit and a couple bottles of juice he liked. If it works for him, I'm ready to be first in line to offer honest help.

I've also wasted a lot of effort and money only to watch them throw it away at their first whim. They'll let you know when they're ready for help.

Have pif'd for quite a while but now I'm advice only oh and showing how to mix liquid and coil and wick because as good as it is giving your gear to help someone out with all that is coming legislation wise I'm now stockpiling so I and my better half can continue as long as we need too. That said the setups you can get now for half what I paid for our first two cigalikes is great and is a good indicator of a persons willingness to stay the course.

I have PIFed in the past, with juice, Vamos, other early regulated mods, as well as juice. But for the past 3 years or so, my vaping preference has been entirely with mechanical mods and rebuildables; and I won't PIF that type of gear to a newcomer. I will, however, do my best to instruct, should the situation arise, particularly about building and battery safety.

One thing I will not do, that I'm seeing a lot of lately: I belong to a couple local FB groups in my area, and frequently there will be posts like: "It's 10:00PM, and all the vape shops are closed. I'm out of juice. Does anyone have a few ml they can spare, and can meet me somewhere?"
I'm sorry, but if you're out of juice at 10:00PM, you probably knew you were getting low at noon, when shops were open. Vaping requires a little more planning than cigarette smoking, where you can go down to the local convenience store at any hour of the day or night, and pick up a pack of smokes.

I don't know any cigarette smokers -- I think I'm the very last one in my family to quit, and the only person I know who smokes anything is an occasional-little cigar smoker, who has no interest, though he's off-the-charts impressed with how well vaping has helped me -- he knew what a diehard smoker I was. :D

I'm all for PIF and talking to people, but I think us being active in the fight against those that wish to see us gone is more productive. That way something will always be available when I'm not.

Fill the ranks! ^__^

With the negative attention vaping is receiving, a lot of people won't even consider it and definitely don't want to invest into it, PIF gives us a chance to not only get them to quit stinkies, give them more years with their families etc but also educate them on the science surrounding them, it could possibly lead to one more activist and if it doesn't at least you're improving the quality of someones life ^__^

Okay, yeah, here's the thing about that, people just aren't interested. If they have not bought into the garish ANTZ lie that vaping is worse than smoking they would really rather just keep smoking anyway, and don't want to hear anyone telling them anything else. That's my experience trying to convert smokers.

Add to that, you need to be real friends with that other person to get your message across to them and have it mean anything, and real friends are pretty hard to come by anymore in what society has become. It's a scene populated by people who already have all the friends they want, and if they don't already know you they don't want to... unless there's something they can use you for.

Moving right along here... I have a lot of old mechs and gennies and a ton of old juice on hand that I could quite easily start a new vaper on, but just try and get a new vaper to learn the skill of building a genny right when they can just go out and buy some new boxy thing and screw a coil from a B&M into it for a few bucks, IF they were so inclined, but they are not.

I've invested a great deal of money in my vaping platform, and it doesn't translate well into new vaper material, being that it's all mechs and gennies. I don't really care about anything else. If someone wants to learn that hardware I'm all for it and will show them all I know, otherwise I can't be bothered.

Personally I'm not seeing the interest in vaping there was a year ago the negative press is doing the trick in the last six months I've only helped 7 people make the switch and the only thing they had in common was hating the size of the gear I use. Only tube mod I have left is my sigelei zmax v5 and that's staying, me and that thing gone through so much had to reassemble it least 8 times but I'm a lot more careful now lol. All my others have new owners but as I said interest is dying fast and just very few people expressing an interest perversely a period of prohibition may actually increase interest .
