A dedicated DYI'er is never satisfied with there mix. There always working to improve it.

For me. This would be a False Statement.

I have Many Recipes that I feel are "Finished".

This. I have several recipes that I don't feel that tweeking slightly would be worth the trouble once I'm happy with it. That being said. I do get ideas from old recipes or recipes that weren't quite there on there own to make newer recipes but I imagine that's what we all do.

True and yet... I reached the end of one of my mixes, but it was because I felt I had reached the end of my knowledge and experience and besides it was pretty good. So the yet part is I'm finished for now. It's a good question.

False....

I have some recipes that are finally perfect. While that is the minority, it's enough to say some are done because it tastes exactly like I envisioned when I started.

There really is no right or wrong answer.

I feel a vape is perfect until you want to change it to something else. I often find myself in a position of loving a vape for a while until I get board or tired of it. Then it's time to turn it into something new by modifying the recipe. But I have a few ADV's that have stayed constant for 3 or so years and I don't think I'll ever tire of them. So those recipes I would have to say are as perfect as I will ever get them.

So what's true is most DYI'ers strive for perfection but what's false about the statement is most DYI'ers that find that perfection stop searching and go on to the next big flavor dream.

...

You are Correct. There isn't really a Right or Wrong answer.

I have made a Couple of TastyFinger Variants that I don't Change. They are Done. And right where I wanted them. But I had some Fruit Blends that are Constantly Evolving.

So yeah... I guess it can be Both.

Today, I have moved to Vaping Unflavored with a Touch of Sucralose. Or doing what I call HOF (Hint of Flavor). Where I put a few Drops of a Flavored e-liquid onto a Fresh Cotton Wick. Or where I put a couple of Drops of Flavored e-liquid into a Tank of Unflavored.

And when you Vape HOF, the recipe of whatever the Hint is Isn't as Critical as when you are Vaping Flavored e-Liquids at Regular Flavor Levels.

We never used to switch brand of cigarettes that much when we were smoking, so why do we keep chasing flavors? Are we possibly after that elusive cigarette taste? That seems to be my case, even though I already have an all day vape. Some of the NETs come close to analogs, but I am too cheap to go for them on a regular basis.

I got perfect flavor in small batch without nicotine, but a different flavor in big batch with nicotine. Both using same recepie. Any advise?

Many Nicotine Bases I have used do have a Taste. Not exactly a Bad Taste. Kinda a Peppery/Biter taste.

Is the Taste of your Large Batch Bad? Or just Different?

Hi zoidman. Thank you for your reply. My Nicotine base not have any bad taste. The throat hit are just nice on 5 mg. I'm using Nic select Nicotine Pg base. Only problem is, I don't get the same flavor that I blend in the small batch.

I would suggest you make another Small Batch but this time using the Nicotine.

If the Second Small Batch tastes just like the First Small Match, then it could be that you could a Slightly Different amount of Flavorings in the Big Batch.

If the Second Small Batch tastes just like the Big Batch, then it is the Nicotine that is Making the Flavor Change.

You gave Both Batches a Really Good Shake when you Mixed them, Right? And a Shake or Two when you Tasted them?

I agree with that most excellent advice. I also stated that very same advice in response to a PM from that poster.
